"The Crate V50-112 is a good solid amp, but with a couple of easy mods this amp can sound so SWEEEEET!!"

Feature:
3- 12ax7's for the preamp 2- 6L6's for power Reverb unit and speaker are not the best but, for the price you can't go wrong. It makes a great practice amp and it would be a super amp for the advanced beginner. *50 watts rms *1 x 12" speaker *Extension speaker output *2 channel (Clean and Overdrive) *3 band shared EQ *Boost switch to increase midrange *Presence switch for adding a bit more color to the output *Effects loop *2 button footswitch (not included)

Quality:
The cabinet appears to be built well. It seems to be a solid amp, as you can see on youtube where someone throws this amp across the floor then plugs in and starts playing again. Could use a better reverb and speakers.

Value:
A 50 watt tube amp for under $200.00!! Great value! You can't get a decent solid state amp for this price.

Desirability:
A tube amp for under $200, everyone should want this sexy beast.

Sound:
It as a flat sound right of the box and a bit to much low end rumble. Anyone that owns/played one knows that. The reverb is not the best either, so I put a Accutronics full size reverb tank in mine. Now the reverb sounds great!! The speaker was my next target. I swapped out the Crate speaker, which is not the best, with a 12" JBL I had lying around and there was a very noticeable difference. Next I targeted the tone of the amp. I changed the pre-amp tube (the one that is closest to the power tubes) with a 12au7. This cost me about a 25% - 30% loss of volume but I ended up with the warmest, sweetest tone you could imagine, very similar to my '65 Twin Reverb. I also changed the other 2 preamp tubes(12au7). JJ tubes were used as the replacements.

Ease of Use:
Not much to say here.

Support:
Don't know as I've never needed support with this amp.... yet.

Overall:
I'm giving it a 10 because of the mods I've done to it, but I'd give it a 5 or 6 right out of the box.

"Short but SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!"

Feature:
Nice & simple. In order to get a good clean sound you gotta turn up the bass. Then when you hit your dirty channel your too muddy. No big deal.Just crank the treble.Or play with pedels like I do.

Quality:
Shes fried.Cant believe it.Looks so well made, its got 3 fuses that didnt blow,Needs a fuse for the power supply or a breaker? This just happenedn tonite.Im ill!!

Value:
If you like Bic lighters instead of Zippo,This is the amp 4 u.Shame on you Crate.

Desirability:
This seems like a simple problem.I wont try myself because ive messes up some good stuff.

Sound:

Support:

About This Product!
Description
From Our Catalog
The new V50-112 two-channel combo loudly announces the new generation of Crate’s all-tube amplifiers. With dual 6L6 fixed biased output tubes, this bad refrigerator produces the sort of sparkling cleans and warm, thick overdrive that can only come from tubes pushed to their limit. It pumps 50 watts through a single 12-inch speaker, creating a muscular low end perfect for club gigs and recording sessions. Presence control, spring reverb and foot-switchable boost make sure you can dial in your custom tone from anywhere. Lesser amps will blow their fuses in fear when they see you plugging into a V50-112.
