Cordoba Dolce 7/8-Size Classical Acoustic Guitar

Just a smidge smaller than a standard classical, the Cordoba Dolce 7/8-Size guitar delivers sweet nylon-string acoustic tone in a slightly smaller package.

The Cordoba Dolce is a 7/8 size nylon string acoustic guitar with a smaller body, neck, and overall dimensions than a full size guitar. The scale length is 630mm (24.8 inches) and the fingerboard width at the nut is 50mm (1.96 inches). It features a solid Canadian cedar top and African Mahogany back and sides. The top is braced with a 5 fan Torres style bracing system for a warm and resonant sound. The neck is made of lightweight Mahogany, and the fingerboard is Rosewood.

The Dolce is handmade and includes several detailed refinements like an all rosewood binding, bridge, headstock veneer, and heel cap. The rosette has been inlaid by hand and is made using all natural woods. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for a warm sounding acoustic that's resonant and easy to play.

Nice to find a CG with these dimensions, and the sound is nice, though difficult to control (coming from a laminate top, the solid top seems very sensitive - good for dynamics if you can control it). The top was a bit wavy, not totally flat - I'm told this is the result of a very thin top showing the bracing underneath. The nut was off center, sticking out 1-2mm on the treble side. It caught my hand on some pieces. The frets should have been better; there appears to be no true binding, and they stuck out a little bit. I felt this would only get worse, even with conscientious efforts at controlling humidity, so I returned it. Otherwise, the finish was nice, the tuners were fine, comes with decent strings. If they could make it with Yamaha-quality necks I'd have had a keeper.
