CBI LowZ Microphone Cable with Neutrik Connectors

Be heard loud and clear with high-quality XLR cables. CBI MLN Performer microphone cables use Neutrik connectors and flexible, durable Belden copper cable.

Musicians understand the value of good cables. In many cases, they can't share their music without them. Every time they plug in a microphone, connect a speaker, or route an effects processor to the mixer, they're putting their trust in these skinny bits of copper. At their best, cables go unnoticed. The gig goes off without a hitch, and everybody's happy. But when there's a cable problem, everyone knows. The music cuts in and out. Static seems to pop up out of nowhere. Sometimes their music fights to be heard with the radio station that springs out of their speakers. These problems can be a nightmare to troubleshoot, because they use so many cables on the stage. Usually everything looks fine, so it's difficult to know which cable is the culprit. You can avoid these issues with the MLN Performer Series from CBI. They only use top-of-the-line components for long-lasting, reliable performance, every time.

Premium Belden cable

At its core, this cable uses two balanced center-conductors made with Belden's best 22-gauge stranded copper. The balanced design naturally rejects radio frequency interference and electrical hum for clean, quiet signal transfer. Belden cable is extremely flexible, with a durable jacket to protect the core. This jacket shields the inner strands from breakage and keeps dirt and moisture from shorting out the conductors. Since cables are constantly wrapped and uncoiled on tour, anything that preserves the integrity of the core leads to long life and read more hassle-free use.

Precision Neutrik connectors

The wire is certainly important, but the end-connectors usually take the most abuse. CBI chose Neutrik X-Series connectors for the male and female XLR ends. Their precision-engineered design offers smooth action for plugging in or out. While stiff connections lead to broken pins or cracked solder joints, Neutrik ends glide in and out. Always in a hurry to pack up the PA, musicians often tug on a cable to unplug the end. This tends to weaken the connection between the cable and the end; a common and hard-to-find symptom of a faulty cable. Neutrik's unique screw-on design provides 100% strain relief to protect this connection. When the end-cap is screwed tight, an inner clamp sandwiches around the cable jacket. When you pull on the cable, the clamp takes the force instead of the solder joints. The cable goes unnoticed, as it should. If a solder joint does come loose for some reason, you have easy access just by unscrewing the end-cap. You can make quick repairs, without having to buy new connectors.

Low-impedance design

These XLR cables come in a variety of sizes, from the smallest patch cord to the longest microphone- or monitor-extender. Their low-impedance (lo-Z) design lets you route long runs to the mixer with full range performance, where hi-Z cables would cause frequency dropouts. You won't lose any of your dynamic expression, so the audience hears your music exactly as you intended.

Every time our church needs new cables, I buy these. Years ago, we used to buy the bargain "3 pack" of another brand for $15. They don't last. Spend a few extra dollars on these, and you wont be sorry. I'm not sure why, but about 3 years ago (and earlier) these cables came with a "Lifetime Warranty", but on our most recent purchase, it says that they come with a "10 Year Warranty". Regardless, we have never (as of yet) had to have one of these cables replaced. If we get 10 years of use out of these cables, I probably wouldn't even bother with making a warranty claim. Now, they don't get used, or get abused, like a working band would use them, but for our purposes, they work great.
