Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Engine

What gives the AP250 Celviano its rich piano tones and expression is Casio's Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source technology, which reproduces the natural changes in an acoustic piano's resonating tones. This digital piano also has an expanded installed memory for longer sampling duration and optimal waveform data. When you play an acoustic piano and you hit a key, you hear the initial attack and then the sound, which fades away into nothing. The same goes for the AP250 Celviano.

It's All in the Keys

The advanced sound engine gives the AP250 Celviano its grand-piano-like sound, and the Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II gives this digital piano its grand piano feel. This special keybed responds to your playing by incorporating a system with three sensors that detect read more the timing of your touch.

The keyboard boasts 88 simulated ebony and ivory keys crafted to have the same texture and smooth finish of a grand piano's keys. Even better, the keys have a crimp surface finish that prevents sweaty fingers from slipping during a performance -- a major plus if you tend to practice for long periods of time or just get really worked up while playing Rachmaninoff. Installed on all 88 keys is a stereo resonance simulator that reproduces not only the resonance that you'd normally get from a damper pedal, but the resonance created by the lifting of the dampers themselves when the pedal is pressed. Playing this digital piano with a pedal should feel and sound just as expressive as when playing a true grand piano.

Tonally Versatile

Eighteen tones -- including stereo-sampled grand piano tones, electric piano, strings, organs, bass, and vibes -- are instantly ready to play, as are digital effects such as reverb, chorus, and brilliance. When you want to get back to standard tonal fare, simply hit the dedicated Grand Piano and Elec Piano buttons to return to grand piano or electric piano tones. When you need some inspiration or something to play along with, tap in to the piano's Music Library, which provides 60 built-in songs to explore.

Become a Better Player

Onboard lessons provide extra encouragement and support to beginning players, and a built-in recorder offers real-time recording and playback of two tracks and one song. You can record yourself and play it back to hear your progress. And rehearsals, you and another player can share the keyboard and play in the same range via Duet mode.

What's nice about the AP250 Celviano is that it doesn't look like a digital piano. Its construction and styling allow it to fit in to any setting, whether it's used at home, in a studio or practice room, or in a small performance venue. The AP250 Celviano comes with a power supply, bench music stand, and score book.

Casio AP250 Celviano Digital Piano

The Casio AP250 Celviano Digital Piano has unprecedented natural reproduction of the rich expressive power and resonance of an acoustic piano with Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source.

The characteristics of Casio's Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source reflect thorough attention to detail in expressing the rich, resonating tones inherent to the piano. The capacity of the installed memory has been expanded to achieve a longer sampling duration and enhanced waveform data quality. The temporal changes in tone that create sound you would expect only from a piano, beginning with the initial sound and leading into a beautiful extension until the sound eventually vanishes, are reproduced naturally.

Keyboard System

Natural playing feel approaching that of a grand piano firm touch that converts the player's thoughts into sound and tri-sensor scaled hammer action keyboard II, with a grand piano's unique sounding timing.

The difference between the sound structures of a grand piano and a digital piano appears as a difference in timing, from the moment the instrument is played until the sound is audible. The Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II responds by incorporating a system with three sensors that detect touches of the keys sequentially.

The Simulated ebony and ivory keys offers the luxurious feel and texture as well as the smooth touch of a grand piano keyboard. The minutely detailed crimp surface finish inhibits finger slippage due to sweat and gives the sensation of a perfect fingertip fit, even when playing for extended periods. The deep, beautiful resonance resulting from the use of a damper pedal is also reproduced naturally by a stereo resonance simulator installed on all 88 keys, an approach that differs from conventional simulated reproduction employing effect processing. The attention to detail goes so far as to simulate the resonance created by the lifting of the dampers themselves when the pedal is pressed. A continuously variable system has been adopted for the damper pedal, moreover, reproducing even the subtle changes in reverberation that occur in response to the delicate pressure exerted by partial pedal operation. This enables players to employ pedal operation to achieve gracefully expressive performances.

I've been playing the piano for over 21 years now and, while I grew up on a single Yamaha baby grand, I've played countless others, ranging from digital, to piano keyboards, to concert grands. I also used to play competitively on instruments valued at up to $100,000. But this Celviano AP-250 is hands down the cream of the crop!! The keys feel amazing, and the found is just unspeakably vibrant and articulate, at any volume, and even through headphones. zZounds was very helpful in setting up my "Play as you Pay" program, and because of that, I can afford this top notch instrument on my budget!! They shipped it to me lightning fast, too! Received it 2 days after I first checked out. Overall, very please and will return to zZounds for all my music needs moving forward! Thanks zZounds!
