"Tough through bad times! Great buy for anyone's system."

I bought this unit to use in a small, new church system. We were running 50 or so in a 200 seat concert hall in my town. Use about 1/3 the amp power as before purchase with much better sound. It's great features has not only allow me to make changes on the fly as I lead the music, it has also allowed warming up the High Quality MIDI tracks and recorded performance tracks we use for congregational/special music with the multiple inputs/outputs to effects. TOUGH? We setup and break down 3 times a week without a hitch. It even took a large glass of water right in the works with no troubles after drying it out! Not even a pop or crackle before I could power it down. High quality controls allowed that. I am going to buy another for my home studio!

"The mixer that sits at the top of my rack!"

This mixer sits at the top of my rack and ties the entire studio together. Aux sends plug into the audio inputs of my Korg MS2000R, 2 track outputs go to the computer. Keyboard, MC303, and other random boxes plug into this and mix nicely together. Silver finish matches my Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones.

The faders are smooth, knobs solid, and size is reasonable. Rack ears are included so you can rack it up with the rest of your gear or let it rest on your desk.

A Goliath-Full of Features in a David-Sized Space
With the MX1604A, Uli Behringer has transported mixing to a new level. To do this, he integrated an unbelievable number of features in this super-compact format, for example the additional ALT 3-4 bus - not at all common in this class. ULN (Ultra-Low Noise) circuitry, state-of-the-art 4580 operational amplifiers, and discrete microphone preamplifiers ensure extremely transparent, noise-free sound. All naturally encased in a rugged steel chassis and constructed of selected high-quality components.

Professional Faders Make Mixing a Pleasure
Should you do without professional feel and exceptional power, just because you're using a compact console? The answer is, quite simply, no. That's why Behringer used super-precise 60-mm Alps/Panasonic faders in every channel and in the main mix. Individual pre/post switching per channel gives you the flexibility you seek.

Peak LEDs in the Microphone Channels
Picture this: you're doing a live mix and one of the microphone channels starts clipping. The integrated channel peak LED shows you immediately which input level you need to reduce.

Solo-in-Place or PFL: It's Your Choice
You can only do your job half way if you've only got pre-fader monitoring. That's why Behringer has given you the choice: the solo-in-place mode monitors the signal as it appears in the mix, whereas PFL (Pre-Fader Listening) monitors the signal at nominal level independently of the fader position. The solo LEDs keep you informed as to which channel you're monitoring.

Pre-Fader Switch for All Channels
A further important detail that is often forgotten is the possibility to switch aux send 1 to pre-fader. This allows you to access the signal before the fader, i.e. for a monitor mix. Miss this elsewhere?

Ultra-Musical 3-Band EQ
It's the heart of the desk. With it, you can bring out the nuances of a vocal or make an instrument stand out in the mix. The impressive, newly developed EQ section with its enormous bandwidth allows smooth frequency shaping for warm lows and crisp, clear highs. To help you get the best out of each signal and sound-design to your heart's delight, the MX1604A's EQ section features 3 ultra-musical filters: 80 Hz, 2.5 kHz, and 12 kHz.

Balanced Inputs: Signal Purity at its Best
Thanks to the MX1604A's professional balanced inputs, noise and hum are remnants of the past. In addition, it hass sports balanced XLR outputs for professional audio/video applications or permanent installations.

ALT 3-4: The Direct Road to Even More Possibilities
Like with full-sized studio consoles, all signals can be routed to the main mix or to the ALT 3-4 bus. This enables you to easily feed a multi-track recorder or create a separate mix, which can be assigned to the main mix.

The MX1604A: Believe Your Ears
When you hear the musical, transparent sound of this desk, keeping the super-compact dimensions in mind, one thing becomes very clear: there's a real big console hidden inside this tiny thing. Add the incredible functionality and model ergonomics, and the picture becomes even clearer.
