AER Monte Montgomery Signature Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

Versatile and easy to use, this artist-approved AER offers 1/4" and XLR inputs and a footswitchable mute that easily silences this 2-channel, 2x100 watt amp.

AER was approached by Monte Montgomery to develop an amp that suits his powerful, loud, dynamic, and effects-centric playing style. Monte's percussive - almost physical - attack required a relaxed amp offering plenty of headroom with effective but understated dynamic control and a sound reproduction that blends the directness and attack with a milder, melodic character.

The result is a 200 watt acoustic guitar amp featuring 2 x 8" Twin Cone Speaker System, UNIV-250 Class A/B Power amp-module used in 2 x 100 W mode, Two Channels, 1/4" and XLR, Four Digital Effects, Direct Out with Level, Effects Loop, Headphone Input, "Monte Mute" footswitchable mute button.

Features:

- Easy to operate and dial in without too much tweaking and bending

- 2 x 8" Twin Cone Speaker System Offers a strong defined mid-range and a tight low end - easily capable of live sound pressure levels.
- UNIV-250 Class A/B Power amp-module used in 2 x 100 W mode specially designed to handle high impulses, the amp handles multiples of its stated power over the first decisive milliseconds to allow the signal, the impulse, to read more pass without distortion. read less

I've played acoustic guitar exclusively for over 25 years and have a pretty solid idea of the sound/tone/response that I want coming out of my amp and boy, does this dude deliver. Before purchasing this amp, I had played through my trusty (and vintage!) Trace Elliot TA100 Concert and basically just got tired of carrying the thing around. After spending some time playing through a Fishman Performer (another excellent amp), I discovered the AER Monte Montgomery. While I certainly cannot compare myself to Monte in terms of talent and musicianship, my style of playing is very similar to Monte's and I have always been impressed with his tone. I just had no idea he had a signature amp! And I couldn't be happier! This is a very "live" amp and has no problems being heard on stage, and in my case, in a 6 piece rock-n-roll band w/ another acoustic guitar and 2 other electrics guitars. The tone I get from my guitar(s) and my Pendulum Audio SPS-1, is reproduced perfectly through this AER MM200, and the power that this amp has gives me plenty of headroom. Even just messing around, I can plug straight in, click the "Colour" button (lowers the mids and boosts the highs) and its sounds like a million bucks. The 2nd channel allows me to easily switch between guitars during a set. The onboard efx are decent, although I don't use them, those who would will be happy with their sound. I couldn't be happier with this amp!! Very pleased!
