802.11n wireless. Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

The new MacBook Pro. Seatbelts sold separately.

A 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Next-generation 802.11n wireless. Gorgeous upgraded displays. Wickedly fast NVIDIA graphics. Start your engines.

Performance squared
Command performance.

MacBook Pro is built on the revolutionary Intel Core 2 Duo — which packs the power of two processor cores (up to 2.4GHz) inside a single chip. It provides 4MB of Smart Cache, L2 cache that can be shared between the cores as needed. It delivers higher performance in 2D and 3D graphics, video editing, and music encoding. But the faster engine is only part of the story. MacBook Pro delivers up to 4GB of 667MHz DDR2 memory with a faster, 800MHz frontside bus and support for hard drives up to 250GB. Ultimate speed, performance, and connectivity. To go. That’s MacBook Pro.

Graphically speaking
Whether you’re creating 3D animation, editing photos from the day’s shoot, or playing your favorite video game, MacBook Pro delivers serious processing power with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics controller.

Packs power, not pounds
What makes MacBook Pro so mobile? Performance in a portable package. Only one inch thin and 5.6 and 6.8 pounds, respectively, the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pros are amongst the thinnest, lightest notebooks in their display class.

Road show
MacBook Pro delivers the Front Row media experience, making it easy (and rather spectacular) to showcase your latest creations. Whether you're at the client's office, on location, read more or back at your hotel room, just use the Apple Remote to control your videos, music, movies, and more. Front Row lets you quickly navigate through your work and play from anywhere in the room. You can even use the Apple Remote to navigate through Keynote presentations.

Hit the road
Your life isn’t confined to an office, so why should your computer be? AirPort Extreme’s 802.11n Wi-Fi delivers up to five times the performance and two times the range compared to the previous 802.11g standard.1 No wires. No extra phone lines. Just you being freed from those four walls.

On the go.
MagSafe Airline Adapter
Out of power in flight? Plug in the new MagSafe Airline Adapter. Check with your airline regarding availability of in-seat power ports.

AirPort Express
MacBook Pro offers built-in wireless capability, and you can create your own wireless network with an AirPort Express.

Built-in Bluetooth
Connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-enabled peripherals or connect to the Internet via your mobile phone.

On display
Extend your desktop by connecting your MacBook Pro to a larger display or an HDTV via the DVI port or an optional video adapter.

Intel Core 2 Duo
You've seen improvements in notebook performance before -- but never on this scale. That's because the Intel Core 2 Duo powering MacBook Pro is actually two execution cores built into a single chip.

Lucky number 7x
Combined with 4MB L2 cache and a myriad of other engineering leaps, the Intel Core 2 Duo boosts performance up to 39% higher than the previous MacBook Pro and over 7x higher than the fastest PowerBook G4.(1) With this awesome power, it's a breeze to render complex 3D models, enjoy smooth playback of 1080p HD video, or host a four-way video conference.

More power, using less power
The Intel Core 2 Duo uses Intel's groundbreaking 65-nanometer process -- resulting in transistors so small, you could fit a hundred inside a single human cell. With smaller distances for electrons to travel, and two execution cores designed to share resources and conserve power, the Intel Core 2 Duo achieves higher levels of performance as it uses fewer watts. Which is what makes it possible to design a super-powerful MacBook Pro that's only one inch thin.

Front Row
MacBook Pro includes Front Row and the Apple Remote. So, from anywhere in the room, you can present your ideas with 21st-century panache. Show off dailies. Play the latest mix. Click through your portfolio. Then head back to your hotel room to watch the TV shows and movies from the iTunes Store, or a slideshow of last month's vacation.

Now showing on MacBook Pro
Enjoy - and share - your music, movies, and photos from across the room on a gorgeous, portable display. Control the mood of the room with instant access to iTunes music and playlists. Or listen to your favorite radio program or Internet talk show anytime. Best of all, MacBook Pro lets you display your own creations with professional flair.

All in the family
Let MacBook Pro and Front Row entertain you by playing songs, slideshows, and videos from other computers in the house.(1) Buy new music in the kitchen, play it in your living room. MacBook Pro automatically finds networked computers under your roof - whether they be wireless or wired. Sounds like magic, but it's just the Bonjour instant networking technology built into every Mac.

Under your thumb
The Apple Remote features a minimalist six buttons. Press Menu to activate Front Row to navigate through your media. You can even use the remote to control Keynote presentations in iWork '06.

The ultimate digital portfolio
Forget lackluster client meetings where you page through hard copies of your portfolio. Front Row makes it possible to showcase your digital work the way it was meant to be seen: on a brilliant 15- or 17-inch display, at the touch of the Apple Remote.

Software update
If you already own a MacBook Pro, you can download updated Front Row software via the Software Update function in System Preferences.

On the go
Projector ready: MacBook Pro with Front Row works with a host of projectors, thanks to DVI, VGA, S-video, and composite connectivity.(2)

Sharing photos requires iPhoto (i.e. a Mac). Sharing music and videos requires iTunes 6.0.4 or later. Video playback capabilities may vary depending on network bandwidth.

S-video and composite connections require an adapter, sold separately.

iSight
Ready for your close-up.

Artfully placed in the MacBook Pro display bezel is an iSight camera. This small camera lets you use iChat AV, iMovie HD, and Photo Booth to make big statements anywhere. So shout it from the rooftops. On location. Backstage. Back home. Show your point of view. Share it with the world.

Video conferencing to go
Talk to anyone, anywhere with iChat AV. iChat video conferencing is completely integrated into your iChat buddy list, so initiating a video conference is straightforward and easy. Just click the meeting attendees on your buddy list and each colleague steps into your virtual office. View their faces as if they're all sitting around a table with you. Make your multiway video conference full screen and instantly turn your hotel room into a video conference room -- without paying for a single phone call.

Podcasts and blogs to go
iLife '06 makes even more of the built-in iSight camera. It's simply another camera source for iMovie HD, but that opens up another world of creative possibilities. Record a short clip with no extra hardware. Just MacBook Pro. Then use iWeb to create a video blog entry or a podcast.(2) Citizen journalism just got the green light with the mobile newsroom built into MacBook Pro.

Special effects to go
Taking pictures of yourself on the road has never been more fun. Add a special image effect -- Sepia, Black & White, Glow, Comic Book, X-Ray, Colored Pencil, Thermal Camera, Spotlight, Bulge, Dent, Twirl, Squeeze, Mirror, Light Tunnel, Stretch, Fish Eye. Click. See the screen flash white (which puts you in the best light). And there you have it -- a high-quality photo you can save as your iChat buddy picture, email to your friends, put in your iPhoto library, or post to your iWeb photo blog.

iChat your way
One-to-one video: Now you can read stories to the kids at bedtime whether you're across the country or across the ocean, with no additional long distance charges.

One-way video: Even if the person you want to chat with doesn't have an iSight camera (lucky you), you can still wave hello with a one-way video chat. Just hold down the Control key as you choose a name from your buddy list and select "Invite to Video Chat."

3+1 video: With support for video chats between up to four people and a stunning, three-dimensional view, iChat AV practically puts your colleagues, friends, and family in the room with you. See their faces reflected into space, just as though you were sitting around a table together.

Audio: Already a versatile instant text messaging application, iChat also lets you hold audio chats with up to 10 people. High-quality audio compression gives you crystal-clear conversations, while full-duplex sound lets everyone speak naturally. Record your conversations in GarageBand with everyone on a separate channel, then post your podcast immediately via iWeb.

384-Kbps Internet connection (up/down) required to initiate four-way video chat; 100-Kbps Internet connection required to participate.

Some iWeb features require .Mac or a web hosting service. The .Mac service is available to persons age 13 and older. Annual membership fee and Internet access required. Terms and conditions apply.

Design
No detail is too minor.

At just one inch thin, MacBook Pro defies reason -- and probably several laws of physics. But each element inside has been carefully considered to condense all the modern mobile amenities into the tightest of quarters.

Innovative right down to the power cord
The MacBook Pro power adapter with MagSafe connector is just that: a magnetic connection instead of a physical one. So, if you happen to trip over a power cord, you won't send MacBook Pro flying off a table or desk; the cord simply disconnects, without damage to either the cord or the system. As an added nicety, this means less wear on the connectors.

Cooler design
In the eternal struggle between the forces of design and the forces of thermodynamic reality, many notebooks simply surrender, opting for clunkier designs to deal with internal heat. MacBook Pro innovates its way to a better place. Not only are its parts engineered to squeeze out every last joule of performance, they're meticulously placed to minimize size. The result? Ultra performance in a thin, light package.

Battery life lessons
With battery life that rivals most notebooks in its class, MacBook Pro keeps you on the go. If you'd like to make that battery last even longer, Mac OS X has a few tricks up its sleeve. Go to System Preferences, click Energy Saver, and change battery optimization from Normal to Better Battery Life. Or tell MacBook Pro to reduce its screen brightness and give yourself a little more time untethered.

Mobile expansion
ExpressCard is the PCMCIA standard replacement for the CardBus PC Card slot, providing a faster way to connect to a wide variety of peripherals including 3G wireless, external hard drives, and flash cards. ExpressCard/34 products currently available in the U.S. include:

AT&T Option GT Max 3.6 Express HSDPA ExpressCard

Novatel V640 EVDO ExpressCard

NitroAV FireWire 800 ExpressCard

FirmTek SeriTek/2SM2-E SATA ExpressCard

Belkin Multimedia Reader and Writer ExpressCard

Scrolling Trackpad
MacBook Pro can tell if you've got one finger on the pedal, or two. With two, you can easily scroll around your documents or open contextual menus. And it's easier now, thanks to a larger trackpad than the PowerBook G4.

Sudden Motion Sensor
MacBook Pro helps protect your data if it detects a fall, by parking the hard drive head during fast changes in orientation.

Sounds surround
MacBook Pro sounds as good as it looks, with unprecedented attention to audio detail. For musicians on the go, MacBook Pro offers pristine sound through optical digital audio on both input and output.

On the go
MagSafe Airline Adapter: Out of power in flight? Plug in the new MagSafe Airline Adapter. Check with your airline regarding availability of in-seat power ports.

World traveler: Charge your MacBook Pro anywhere in the world with the optional World Travel Adapter Kit.

Illuminated keyboard: Where else can you find a backlit keyboard? MacBook Pro has a built-in ambient light sensor that adjusts the keyboard and display brightness for optimal visibility.

Graphics
Broader horizons.

Promote your ideas on the MacBook Pro’s dazzling new displays. Throw in the color and clarity of the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM, and you'll have the power to do it all, anywhere.

Everything is illuminated
MacBook Pro makes your ideas more enlightening, with a sharp, high-resolution screen. See blacker blacks, whiter whites, and many more colors in between on a brilliant 15.4-inch, 1440-by-900-pixel or 17-inch, 1680-by-1050-pixel digital display. Enjoy a nuanced view simply unavailable on other portables.

Moving performance
The combination of a 16-lane PCI Express architecture and the powerful NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor brings a new level of realism to MacBook Pro users. 16x full screen anti-aliasing, 128-bit High Dynamic Range rendering, and a texture fill rate of up to 8.2 billion per second provide unrivaled picture quality and lifelike contrast and tone for next-generation 3D animation and games. The new MacBook Pro graphics performance is up to 57% faster than the original Core Duo-based MacBook Pro.

Pure digital signal
When you connect an Apple Cinema Display to MacBook Pro, you lose nothing in translation. That’s because the DVI connection gives you a pure digital signal from system to display. View more than 4 million pixels on the 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display, powered by the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT and dual-link DVI built into MacBook Pro. You get three options for using your display: dual-display mode, video mirroring, and lid-closed mode.

Finishing coat
MacBook Pro offers an antiglare widescreen display that's perfect for color-minded professionals. For a more immersive viewing experience, you can configure MacBook Pro with a glossy finish. This gives everything you see a richer, more saturated feel.

On the go.
MacBook Pro works with a host of projectors, thanks to the standard DVI port or an optional video adapter. You can change your view with one-button ease. Just hit the F7 key to switch between dual-display and presentation views.

Wireless
Born to be wireless.

Free yourself from the confines of a desk with the wireless technology in MacBook Pro. Collaborate with colleagues around the world from across the room using a Bluetooth headset and iChat AV over wireless Internet. Make last-minute changes to a presentation by sharing files over Bluetooth. MacBook Pro lets freedom ring.

Unplug the Internet
AirPort Extreme with 802.11n gives you blazing connectivity with speeds up to five times faster and up to two times the range compared to the 802.11g standard. This turbocharged technology lets you connect to the Internet without wires, additional phone lines, or complicated networking hardware.

Wireless freedom
Cafes. Hotels. Even some airplanes. Every day more public spaces become “hot spots” — offering wireless Internet access and making the digital life more mobile than ever. The new AirPort Extreme with 802.11n is compatible with Wi-Fi Certified 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g technology. This gives MacBook Pro the flexibility to work with a variety of Wi-Fi access points, so all you road warriors can get connected wherever there’s a Wi-Fi network.

AirPort Extreme is also compatible with Windows PCs and the millions of Wi-Fi Certified 802.11 devices in use around the world. So even if your environment includes Windows PCs, you’ll be able to access your company’s wireless network.

Get your fair share
With Bonjour networking technology built into every MacBook Pro, the possibilities for wirelessly sharing files, printers, and data are nearly limitless. Your computer discovers other computers and peripherals on the same network. From there, you can print and share with secure simplicity.

Sync, look, and listen
Use built-in Bluetooth wireless technology to connect to your PDA or cell phone. Sync addresses. Download pictures from your cell phone. Send an SMS using your MacBook Pro keyboard. Talk on a wireless headset. Quickly share files with a colleague. Bluetooth pairing makes it possible. MacBook Pro makes it easy.

On the go
Networking with Bonjour: With MacBook Pro and Bonjour technology, you can find printers, share files, and connect to other computers on a network.

Built-in Bluetooth: Connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-enabled peripherals or connect to the Internet via your mobile phone.

AirPort Express: MacBook Pro offers built-in wireless capability, and you can create your own wireless network with an AirPort Express.
