Feature:
Like I said, a different kind of mike/pickup, would make life a little more pleasant.
Quality:
I rate this guitar a 10 in this category, because I don't think your can buy a better one of this type at this price---and it looks beautiful!
Value:
The best for the price as far as I can see.
Desirability:
I own it. The price, the quality, the ease of play, the looks, etc.
made me want it. I already own a Ibanez Strat clone, A Mako copy of an Epiphone jazz guitar, A 1958 Silvertone classical that plays great, and an imported (from Spain) hand made classical that cost $800.00. Each guitar has its own purpose. I didn't have a guitar that would be my special accompaniment guitar, so I bought this one.
Sound:
This is a good guitar. It's a little light on the bass side. I realize that with all the electronic goodies inside, it's going to
cut your bass down somewhat. However when plugged into an amp, it's great. Only one problem, the mike picks up the noise that you make when sliding up or down a string, and magnifies it greatly. It needs a different kind of pick-up. Maybe I'll try a plain third string, that's the one that really schreeches.
Ease of Use:
Good action. I didn't have to make any adjustments. The height of the strings is perfect. I have had a dozen guitars and I always had
to whittle a little on the brideg and the head. This one is perfect as is.
Support:
I'm rating this section a ten on faith. I never have had a problem, so I don't know well Zzounds does in this area. One suggestion however, PLEASE print "FRAGILE" signs on the boxes that the guitars come in. The UPS driver that delivered my guitar, threw it from the
back of the truck to the front, then DROPPED it, and it came tumbling down the stairs of the truck. The guitar came through this without a scratch or other injury.
Ibanez builds them tough, and Zzounds, packs the shipping boxes with a lot of bubble material.
Overall:
I would probably look for something with a little more low end. However with the EQ controls on my amp, I can add a little bass if
I want to. I am a total soloist. I don't have a bass player or any other musicians around to help.
