Marshall TSL60 Half Stack Customer Review

Feature:
The features are the best reason to buy this amp. Very versatile for live gigging.

Quality:
Marshall is as good a build quality as any.

Value:
A great long term investment. Marshalls will always have a great resale.

Desirability:
Amp is stunning on stage. I look at this amp as a fine piece of artwork in my house. There is NOTHING that sends a visual message better than a marshall amp.

Sound:
Sounds great. Like the clean. Sounds best with a full stack with the 1960B on the bottom. Takes a bit of tweaking to get all three channels set up. I have a JCM800 head that I think would be better to record if you are after that true vintage classic rock tone. But this one is better for gigging for me since I play everything from RNB to AC/DC in the same night.

Ease of Use:
Takes a bit of tweaking. Many combinations between channel gains, volumes and master volume.

Support:
Have had no reason for support so far.

Overall:
My main amps are now a Mesa Boogie F30, Two Fender Prosonics, A JCM800 half stack, and the TSL60 Half stack. After playing for 30 years I felt I deserved and could afford all of them. These rigs will cover all bases for recording, small gigs, and large out door gigs. All have a very distict sound. The Fender tube reverb is the best ever, the Marhsall crunch is the ultimate calssic rock sound. You need both to get the real sounds. I despise modelling amps and solid state amps. They all suck in my opinion.

About This Product!
Description
Using similar technology to the TSL100 and TSL122, the latest additions to the JCM2000 Series are the 60 Watt TSL60 head, TSL601 1x12 combo and TSL602 2x12 combo. With 3 channels giving every bit as much flexibility as their higher powered brethren, the TSL60s use a pair of Svetlana EL34 power valves for that classic pure Marshall valve tone.

The TSL60 Series amps all have three channels: Clean, Crunch, and Lead. The Clean channel has controls for Volume, Treble, Middle, and Bass. The Crunch and Lead channels feature individual Volume and Gain controls, with shared Treble, Middle, and Bass tone controls. The Tone Shift switch on the Crunch/Lead channels reconfigures the way the all important middle control works and the overall Deep switch adds masses of extra push at the low end.

The addition of separate Reverb controls for the Clean or Crunch/Lead channels and an overall FX Loop with Level and Mix controls, that are also on/off footswitchable means that the TSL not only gives more, but also allows the player to use the facilities in a live situation to an extent only dreamed of before. The TSL60s also feature a built-in speaker emulated DI circuit for recording or direct to the PA situations. The supplied 5-way footswitch provides remote switching for the 3 individual channels, plus the effects loop and the reverb.
