The KRK RP8G2 Rokit G2 Powered Studio Monitor gives you amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio. All of the great stuff that Rokit's have been known for including front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone are still there, but the G2 Rokit's feature refined voicing and a new curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy. Feature:
At this price point, the only feature I am not happy with,is the painfully loud yellow color of the woofers, but apart from that,it's a very nice looking cabinet & baffle.
Quality:
It's feels & appears to be sturdy, but down the road, only time will tell...
Since these monitors have no mesh grilles over the drivers & the cabinet is fiberboard,I would not reccomend it outside of the studio, unless you tansport them with the original boxes.
Value:
Yes.
Desirability:
If it were'nt for the yellow woofer,I would have given the appearance a top rating...unless you have yellow walls with a carribean motif in your home, these monitors will clash harshly in a typical studio enviroment.
A nuetral color for the LF driver, such as aluminum or any shade of gray would have been ideal,in my opinion.
Sound:
Based my my experiences, the RP8's are the most perfectly balanced monitors out there for $400.Sonically,thier very punchy & detailed at this price point-very impressive.
I've only had these monitors for a day,but after having run all types of audio through it,such as my Zoom 8HD,commercial cd's and my Korg Triton Extreme,I get the distinct impression that mixing & mastering on the RP8's will be a breeze an a utter joy!
Ease of Use:
These monitors blended very well into my treated,13'X 10' room. The HF adjustment is in the flat position,so it was just plug & play right out of the gate.
Support:
In the past,I've had good contact with them.
Overall:
I will have these monitors as long as they hold up and if I had to replace them,I would do so if the price is right, but I would prefer the special edition color that KRK had come out with, some time ago.

Feature:
XLR, 1/4", and RCA inputs are cool. Level control and adjustable high end response knobs are a bonus.
Quality:
I've seen one of these speakers take a spill onto it's front, on cement, from a tabletop (while pumping) and not even flinch. (a few scratches.. still work perfectly.) Extremely well assembled.
Desirability:
Bumble bee theme. If you're looking at it, you're also hearing it.
Sound:
These aren't Genelecs, but they're head and shoulders above everything that I've heard in this price range. Nice response curve to my ear; strong bass reproduction like larger monitors.
Support:
The best kind- unnecessary.
