"A GREAT kit for the hatchling drummer in your family, dad!"

Feature:
It's a great, no-brainer starter kit for the lay-parent to provide fortheir child; including everything right down to sticks, drum stool (or "throne") and even a drum key to tune the heads.

Quality:
The quality is decent, considering what you pay for it. I suppose that, given the effort to keep costs down, CB was wise to short-change the cymbals rather than the drums.

Value:
An excellent value. A reletively low cost experiment in drumming for the parent to venture on. If you're unsure of your child's ambition, you're better off with this kit versus some junky toy drum kit from Wal Mart. Such crap will be broken inside of a week.

Desirability:
The "wow factor" when the kid first sees them is satisfying :)

Sound:
First off, I have to say that there are a LOT of MORONS giving ridiculous comments about this brand. "The best"??! Maybe if you don't know what the heck you're talking about -- OR NO HOW TO SPEEK, DooD! For Heaven's sake, try looking into what the PROS PLAY. you will never EVER see them sitting behind a set of CB Drums! As a PROFESSIONAL COMPOSER FOR FIFTEEN YEARS and pro musician for twenty-two years, I can say that these drums are an excellent and affordable starter kit for the YOUNG (child) aspiring drummer. The snare and toms sound surprisingly decent. The kick is quite usable. The heads are tunable and use REAL drum skins. The severe downfall of this kit lies with the cymbal and hi-hats. If you buy this kit for your child, and they stick with it beyond the few months of novelty "newness" of banging around on them, then retire the cymbal and hats when you start lessons, perhaps adding the very affordable (and MILES AHEAD in quality) Sabian

"Quality drumming for our 5 year old"

Sound:
I agree with the other reviews! We got this for our 5 year old, and it is just perfect for him. I agree that the sound quality of the drums are great, and too that the cymbals are okay but not impressive. But, hey, for a 5 year old, it rocks! And, yes, much better than a toy set. The high hat and peddle for the bass drum seem to need a lot of adjustment. That is the one down fallfor us.
