"Nothing Better in its Price Range"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I wont need another guitar unless I get big in music. This guitar is the best I've owned before. My other guitars include Epiphone SG-310, peice of crap Dean, an Ovation Applause Acoustic and a Squire P-Bass. The LP is much better quality and value than all of these combined.
Sound
The pickups are amazing although i think they sound better distorted than clean. Perfect for Zeppelin like Black Dog and Heartbreaker. Same pickups as Les Paul Studio which goes for a couple hundred more $$.
Features
The neck is the reason i decided to buy this guitar. It is so skinny and smoothe and the faded paint feel feels great. The nobs are fine. I heard that the 3 way switch will break after about a year...but i can just replace it as they are not too expensive. I also heard from a friend that owns this that the tuning machines are snap-on and i saw his break.
Quality
I'd give it an 8 due to the fact that my friend's has had some minor defects.
Value
I was glad I paid this price for it. I paid $685 for this guitar instead of $550 for a cheaper Epiphone standard which I would not have been as happy with.
Manufacturer Support
I've never dealt with them so I guess thats a good thing.
The Wow Factor
I will never sell this guitar unless it breaks and I can rip someone off.

"Sweet little machine"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Definitely a 10. It's like playing a Gibson LP Custom (for those of you who don't know, a Custom is the creme de la creme).. exactly like it. Don't let people convince you otherwise, because I guarantee they're just pissed that they blew $2000 on a guitar that isn't any better. Wouldn't that make you mad, too? :) Enjoy!
Sound
Awesome. Same pickups as LP custom as others have mentioned. 490R/498T Alnico pickups rock! Better than the LP Standard, IMHO. Not quite as the burstbuckers if you only play clean blues and jazz, but if you want any distortion, this is what you want.. they're killer for rock, metal, punk, everything not perfectly clean. They just have more oomph for distortion!
Features
Volume and Tone for each pickup and a 3 way switch. I prefer my switches down by the knobs, makes more sense, but it's in the traditional LP location which is always excellent. No ebony fretboard, but rosewood is smooth. Pearloid dots instead of mother of pearl inlays, but do you care? I don't have $1000 to spend on that, which is basically the only difference.
Quality
The price scared me.. getting a Gibson LP for under a grand?? But it's just as good. Surprisingly excellent.
Value
The best value you're going to find. Gibson Les Paul's legendary quality and respect without the bells and wistles. I'd rather not pay another grand for aesthetics. And I love the special's flat front, anyway. Who needs a big heavy carved maple slab ontop of their mohagany?
Manufacturer Support
I'll give a 10 for support, mainly because it hasn't need any :) I have no idea what their support is like if you actually need it. Hopefully, you won't.
The Wow Factor
Very sexy guitar. The faded look is okay, I could do without it. But I've heard that it helps make it even less expensive by omitting layer after layer of paint, sanding, buffing, lacquering, etc. And it's satiny smooth. I've got the cherry version, and it looks hot. Ebony is very awesome too, though.

"This Guitar Delivers"

The only other guitar that I would be tempted to buy would be a used "The Paul" made about 25 or so years ago. My instructor has this model and I think BB would trade Lucille for it. I think, since I play for myself that my LP Faded will be my only electric guitar.
Sound
The sound is just great. It kind of reminds me of an acoustic when chording, nice. The ticket for blues rock. I have heard somewhat better for clean blues and Jazz. However, this thing does just about anything you want it to quite well.
Features
The usual Paul controls provide quite a range of sound and tone. The neck is very comfortable, especially with my smaller hands.
Quality
The set up was off and the frets needed work. All else is a 10. Mine was purchased as an "as is" guitar for some dings, what have u. I only play for myself to beat acoustic boredom. I would expect that this guitar will hold up fine with reasonable care.
Value
It's worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
Gibson took care of the frets under warranty. I never spoke with Gibson, the warranty station took care of it.
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal, perhaps some. This guitar is more of an understatement. However, I like looking at it. A Les Paul is an elegant looking product in general.

"Less Les is More"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Lots of sweet harmonics and some really fine raunch.
Features
Mahogany is definitely the way to go. Don't need a maple cap for looks or sustain.
Quality
Very solid workmanship. Maybe not the jewel in the Gibson crown but definitely made of the same stuff.
Manufacturer Support
I picked the best because I've never needed to use. I see no reason this won't continue to be the case.
The Wow Factor
I love the slab construction, the faded finish, the raw sound. I don't know if you'd call it sexy, but it definitely arouses something primal.

"New one is like my old one."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I own many guitars and work on the weekend for enjoyment. I have an American made Tele, PRS , Gibson 355S from 1966 bought new then. Overseas Tele, 15 year old Ovation and a Nashville setup Double Neck Pedal Steel. I like that the new one is so close to quality of my original.
Quality
Quality - nice details - Gibson didn't have to age it - use it for weekend gigs with two other guitars. American made Tele and an ovation.
Value
Might be one of the best deals out there today.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed any support
The Wow Factor
Just wanted a NEW version of my original.

im keeping it forever
Sound
the sound is great, you really get a fat sound for rock or anything heavy out of the 2 humbuckers (same as the custom/standard/and i think studio) but it can also play softer stuff on clean. im playing through a fender dsp 90 and it sounds great.
Features
older looking finish, a little cheaper wood, but thats why the price is awsome. the finish looks pretty cool and the wood is a hell of a lot lighter than the standard and studio models of the lp
Quality
gibson quality
Value
the price is amazing. you are getting some really hot pick ups, the exact same ones found on many les pauls that are over 2 or 3 thousand dollars for 650-750 bucks. its worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
havnt had to do any support stuff
The Wow Factor
