"Wonderful"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will use this as my main axe for a very long time.........no doubt......buy this one
Sound
Awesome clean and lightly overdriven /distorted tone.....creamy and smooth......however, the heavily distorted tones are not as good they tend to get very muddy (with the 3 single coils)........I use a Boss MT2 and GT8........the MT2 sound svery muddy with it but the GT8 purrs with it, especially with delays and OD's...class
Features
The hardcase is very nice and sturdy, the strap buttons are not so big like PRs that you can't even get the button over, but are not so small like gibson that you cant swing the guit round for fear of dropping it.......just right....body is light and maple neck is smooth and unblemished, playes like a dream.....
Ease of Use
very easy, 1 volume, 2 tone....perfect...... however, the neck is actually pretty large, so ppl with small hands will need to work a little while to get used to it ....but it was worth the work....
Quality
Very well made........
Value
Very, very expensive.......worth it but expensive
Manufacturer Support
Will not need to........
The Wow Factor
To those who know their guitars...the tone is so sexy you would kill for it... but for those who don't, the design is very plain.......

Sound
sounds and plays as well as eric johnson model!!
Quality
great setup, and intonation right from the store. neck, fret work, finish were also great.
Value
i've read many reviews about the eric johnson model and just played one last week. i went to the music store planning on buying it. after examining it and playing it thru a HotRod Deluxe, i couldn't appreciate a difference. My American Strat's workmanship and sound was the same as the EJ and cost me $700 LESS!!! A GREAT GUITAR

"Just a great American made basic "Strat" for anyone."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I am very satisfied with this guitar. I could have pretty much bought any "high end" guitar I wanted, including other variations/artist signature model strats, but I settled on this one. I would definately buy another one iif this was lost or stolen. It fits my musical ability and style well. Other guitar players have their own opinions and they may want a different product.
Sound
This guitar has the classical "Strat" sound. For myself, I really enjoy the different tones and sounds this guitar makes. from clean to distorted, The pick-ups are on par with what anyone would expect from a "real Strat" The "Delta Tone" is a bit weak in my opinion, however with a bigger amp it probably does what it's supposed to. Of all the guitars I have had, this one for me produces the best sound.
Features
This guitar came with case, polishing cloth, cable, strap, adjusting tools. Controls are standard "Strat" but has the "Delta Tone" feature. My only minor complaint is that I think the case is a bit"cheap". It just does not seem sturdy enough.
Quality
After getting this guitar, I feel that you really do get what you pay for. The finish, hardware controls etc. were all perfect. I dont play in a band so as far as gigging without a back-up I really cant say, but I would always have a back-up if I was on the road. As with any guitar, If it is taken care of, then it will last. I suppose this guitar could take the abuse of being on the road, but for me I take very good care of my guitars expensive or cheap.
Value
I honestly beleive that this guitar is worth the price, but since I'm not in a band or a "great guitar player" I think that only those people could say for sure. A lot of famous artists use these guitars so they must be worth the money. I would definately not get the case for it and just take the credit and get a better case.
Manufacturer Support
Not needed yet.
The Wow Factor
I have the sunburst with the rosewood fretboard. When I decided on this guitar, this is was my favorite color combination. foor myself, it's a "Strat" which what I really decided on after playing different high end models.

"Fender has it right this year."

Oh, this axe will be with me for a while.
Sound
I have the Butterscotch Blonde Strat, It is sweet, nice action, beautiful tone thru a '65 Fender Princeton. Very bright on the bridge pickup. (Actually who am I kdding, all 3 are bright)
Features
Whammy bar came with it, Strap, Case. I don't know why but I like the old Tweed cases that you used to get when you spent a bundle on a guitar over the new plastic case. Can't fit anything in it.
Quality
It is well made. I can't find anything cosmetically wrong with it. The finish is beautiful. (Butterscotch Blonde)
Value
With all this being said, I compare my USA strat to my China Squire and for the most part (yea I know the pickups and finish and quality of wood re much better on the USA Strat), but the actual feel is so close to the Squire that I believe unless you really have to have the USA strat (Like I did), save yourself 700 bucks and buy the Squire or the MEXI
Manufacturer Support
Fender is and has always been a top notch organization and I have never had to worry about service from them or their partner retailers.
The Wow Factor
Hey, it's a USA Strat. My dream guitar (this week).....

"Excelent playability, awesome sounds!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I expect to use this for quite some time. I bought it because of all my heroes have used a Strat, Hendrix, Clapton, Gilmour, SRV, etc. Buy it!
Sound
The sound of this Stratocaster is awesome! With the right tube amp you can nail many classic sounds. It is definitely compatible with the Blues, Psychadelic era sounds, as well as pretty much any musical style!(The only one I think might be tough to achieve is a Metal sound.) Capable of many sounds.
Features
It came with a case, a cord, a Fender Strap, a tremolo bar, a polish cloth, and some allen wrenches to for setting up. 3 great pickups, with a high output bridge, and the no-load tone setting make this full of features!
Ease of Use
Easy. Plug it into an amp set your tone controls to your liking (for me, 5 on neck, no-load on bridge most of the time.), and play! Nice action, easy to access all frets, and rolled fingerboard edges make it even easier to play.
Quality
It is of a much higher quality than my other, Mexican made Strat. The finish is nice, and it had no cosmetic blemishes. It is very reliable and nothing that would break (except strings of course!). The thing that surprised me the most is that the strings stay in tune, even after dive-bombs with the tremolo bar!!
Value
It is worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed any support.
The Wow Factor
It looks great, maple neck, Olympic white, it's beautiful!

""The most versatile guitar I'v ever played""

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Never getting rid of his guitar, and if i buy another guitar, ill definitely be a strat
Sound
I recently bought the Americn Strat and this instrument has the mos versatile sound of any guitar i have ever played, and paired with the new amp i bought with it, a Fender Princeton 65 DSP, there's pretty much no sound i can't get.
Features
Great case included, tremolo, good tuners, nice single coil pu's, and mine came with a strap, polishing cloth, and extra set of strings as well
Quality
Best feeling guitar I've ever played, it almost molds to your body, and my 3 color sunburst is beautiful..if i would get a backup, I'd get two or three more American Strats in a new york heartbeat
Value
I got a great deal on his guitar at $700 at the Sam Ash store i New York, and even with the steep price, its definitely worth it
Manufacturer Support
Havent needed support yet so im not rating it
The Wow Factor
If you want sex appeal in a guitar, the strat is the way to go, especially the 3 color sunburst or classc black

"An American Icon, the sole of rock n roll!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Every guitar player sould have a least one Strat in their garage. If you don't try one you'll never know. Gilmour, Clapton, SRV, Hendrix can't be wrong.
Sound
Nothing sounds better than a Strat. This guitar is the most popular guitar of all time. Leo was a God! It is an American Icon and screems California style. I was unsure how the pick-ups would be and thought they might have to be upgraded. They are very Straty and all of the classic tones are there, their staying. Played thru a GOOD tube amp, it sounds like heaven.
Features
Moulded Case, Strap, cord, trem bar, tools and polish cloth came with it. Somehow I have never got this stuff when buying from a local retailer? 3-pick-ups, tremolo, 5-way switching and no load tone controls give a incredible variety of sounds. Hardware is of very good quality.
Ease of Use
Strats are simply the most comfortable guitar to play on stage. Fast neck and nice wide frets make it a joy to play. Somehow the strat makes me more creative than the gibsons and is a lot less finicky too!
Quality
Well it is very well finished but it's not quite a Gibson. Of course this isn't a custom shop model, which is more comparable to the Gibson in price. It is certainly a much nicer guitar than any of the no US models. Hand rolled fingerboard, hand cut nut, better hardware and great US pickups are worth the extra money.
Value
This guitar sells for 1200 locally (Canada) and I got this one for 800 because it was the last Chrome Red color which was discontinued. What a deal!!!!
Manufacturer Support
ZZounds great, Fender never returns my e-mails?
The Wow Factor
The Strat is way sexier than my gibsons, just look at all the curves and glossy red paint!

"Highly, highly, highly recommend buying this guitar. It's worth every cent and it wont dissapoint."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
For me, a strat can last a lifetime. You've seen some of the original '54 strats in magazines probably. That just goes to show how long a strat can last and how much of a beating one of those beaute's can take.
Sound
I played this guitar in a guitar store in Chicago. Let me tell you, I almost wanted to spread it on a peice of toast. The tone was so buttery smooth and warm, I could hardly put it down. The american made pickups and the high quality alder do a lot for this instrument.
Features
When you buy a guitar, your main focus is the guitar (of course) but don't forget the accessories that come with this baby! This one comes with a hardshell case, cable, strap, polishing cloth, and truss rod adjustment wrench. A Strat is one of the most versatile and convenient gutars you can play, and the extras that come with this guitar only improve the value.
Quality
Whith all-american made parts, you can count on this thing being well-made. The tuning machines are improved, as well as the highly detailed fret-work.
Value
Even though this guitar will hit hard on most people's pocket books (especially mine, if i ever save up for one) i wouldn't hesistate to purchase this guitar even if i stole the money from a bum on the street......well, i'm not sure about that, but i will buy it once i have the money.
Manufacturer Support
The only reason I give support and 8 is because i've never had to use it really. I own a fender stage 100 amp, and i've never had problems with it.
The Wow Factor
I've played a lot of guitars, (les pauls, teles, sg's, firebird's, etc.) and the strat by far feels the best to me. The contoured body and the overall shape is what appeals most to me. And you can't beat an olympic white or chrome red finish either.

"buy a Gibson"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Sounds great if you are looking for that single coil sound. A humbucker at the bridge would be nice for more tonal variety.
Features
Nice. I like having the tremolo, which is not available (except for crappy Bigsby's) on my Gibsons.
Quality
I have owned 2 strats and 2 gibsons ( a les paul studio and an SG), and the Gibsons just seem to be of much higher quality. The fenders look and feel cheap in comparison.
Value
For the price I would fork out a little more and get a Les Paul studio or an SG standard.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed support so ill give it to them
The Wow Factor
If you want quality and sex appeal, get a Gibson or a Gretsch.

"PERFECT"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It's expensive and not a begginer guitar but if you have the money and love playing the guitar its worth it.
Sound
Nothing Beats the sound of a strat. I personally like it better than a les paul but some people don't. This guitar Sounds great but you need to have a good amp to plug it into.
Features
The Maple Fret board and the pickguard are nice
Ease of Use
strings are close to fretboard. Easily played
Quality
Nothing Beats a Fender.
Value
A Little expensive but well worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Havent had any problems.
The Wow Factor
I got it in 3-tone burst so it looks pretty nice.
