The SCOM Plus adds a De-Esser (with Level control and meter) to decrease unwanted sibilance and a dedicated Limiter, with a separate Threshold control and Peak LED, to ensure that signal levels will not clip the inputs of your digital recorder or power amp.
The Enhancer function on the SCom Plus is switchable in/out. The Enhancer is fully adjustable and puts the "air" back into compressed material. The SCOM Plus also features both XLR and servo balanced Õ in. I/O connectors, +4/-10 input level switches, "Key Listen" for external triggering, and Gain Reduction and Input/Output level meters.
The Samson SCOM is a dual-channel, signal rack space Expander/Gate, Compressor/Limiter, and Enhancer designed to reduce noise, increase loudness, prevent clipping, and recover high frequencies that might get lost during heavy compression. The Expander/Gate section features a variable Threshold control, a Fast/Slow switch for setting release times, and Open/Closed LEDs for precise monitoring of the gate's operation. The Compressor/Limiter controls include Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Output, and a switchable "Auto" function (attack and release times can be set manually or automatically).
