Feature:
could have a separate mix for the two headphone outputs.
Quality:
Built well. strong chassi. good knobs. 48V and front input buttons slightly plasticy.
Value:
very good
Desirability:
I don't get overwhelmed by 'must have it' sex-appeal looks
Sound:
great for live use. great for studio use. great with a laptop on location. Great sound Great drivers (3.2.8). Installation was a breeze. Latency is quite low (3ms in 3ms out with 64 buffer size in 48kHz) Works on my PC with the on-board non TI FireWire chip. robust. Great features. even the service support center has improved over the past months. 192kHz 24bit sounds amazing. I would like a better meter on the front panel for inputs but I can handle the one on the unit. sounds better than the MOTU traveler or mK828. I use it as the central unit between my PC, mixing board, external effects, midi controllers, external preamps, line inputs and mics.
Great value. I was afraid to buy this unit as it had some early driver problems. I never had any problem with it. Didn't work well with MacBook Pro running XP on BootCamp but that could be a SP2 FW update issue so it should be checked again.
Overall: I Love this unit and I stopped using my external preamps because the sound is just good enough for me.
Ease of Use:
very easy. very good. swift installation. no crashes or glitches since
Support:
Support was terrible but got very good over the past few months. there is a new team for dealing with Onyx products.

Feature:
I liked the very long firewire cable, cheer fun when unpacking because I havea distant machineroom.
I like the final mix plug in but I work with cubase and the version included only works within traktion. Too bad...
Quality:
Didn't get across one glitch. I have it for 6 months now.
Value:
It did'n hurt at all once I was up and running in minutes and heard the quality. I want to buy more!
Desirability:
Two headphone sockets on the front, very convenient. I almost bought a MOTU MKII because it looks a lot better. I think that beauty comes from the inside. With audio interfaces that is
Sound:
It's the first interface I have so I don't have any reference. Before I recorded vocals and guitars on a Tascam 2488 workstation. Well the difference between those are pretty huge so I think i bought the right one. I heard a lot about Onyx amps so that did it for me.
Ease of Use:
It goes in, it goes out, you decide how, it's like that.
Support:
I use a lot of support from cubase because they experiment a lot, for this product it's the opposite. Mackie works very straith forward, I think they do not dare try to build things that can come across difficult bridges.
Overall:
I like it, as I mentioned, I want to daisy chain a couple in the future.
