"Unique pedal, perfect for any guitarist's arsenal of effects"
Feature:
Free power supply! I'm glad I don't have to use batteries for this pedal because I'd go through quite a few!! The bright LEDs are nice, since I can easily read whether the effect is on or not and what effect is selected. It has MIDI control, but I don't use MIDI so I don't worry about that feature. Probably if I start gigging it will be useful, maybe-maybe not. But it's there, if you're into using that kind of hardware!
Quality:
Just about everything on this pedal is metal. It feels like it has a pretty solid construction, but I wouldn't go dropping it down any stairs. Just treat it carefully like you would any other expensive pedal and it should last you a while. Look at Tom Morello, he's still got his from the 80's!! Although, this is the first time I've bought a Digitech product, so I don't know how truly durable they are, but it seems like it could take a beating.
Value:
Don't get me wrong here, this pedal is amazing. But $200 is a little steep. It's a great pedal with effects like no other, but I'm always apprehensive with it because it's $200 and I'd probably be upset if it broke and my money was wasted. I'm pretty sure Digitech has a warranty though. I guess you really do get exactly what you paid for: a full 200 dollars worth of effects.
Desirability:
I like the Ferrari Red color. It looks really sweet and the LEDs do a good job of lighting up a dark stage area. This is definitely one sexy pedal!
Sound:
I've read reviews and heard some people complain it sounds digital. I think it sounds just great. With 16 different presets, you're bound to find at least a few that you can use regularly and enjoy! My personal favorites are the 2 Octaves Up, 1 Octave Down, 4th down 3rd down and 1 Octave up. The "Dive Bomb" which is a new feature in the WH-4 is ok, but it's so low you can barely hear it with the pedal depressed. All in all, I get the sounds I want, when I want and however I want. I have a Dunlop GCB-95F crybaby, a Boss SD-1 and a Line 6 Spider III, and I'm 100% pleased with the sound I can get!!!
Ease of Use:
The manual is clear and informative, but they can't teach you how to rock a pedal back and forth. The reason I give it an 8 is because it's a little awkward to get used to. Some people say "It's just like a wah-wah." I have a Crybaby myself and it's nothing like it. There's a big difference, but the learning curve isn't that hard to overcome. After 10 or 15 minutes, you'll be an expert and wailing on this thing like Tom Morello!
Support:
Haven't needed any, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here, just for making such an awesome pedal!!!
Overall:
All in all, this pedal is a must have. Screech it up 2 octaves, slack it down 3 or go anywhere in between, this pedal can do it all. You can't really get sounds like this anywhere else. The unbeatable sounds at an unmatched price, the Digitech Whammy is a must have for any guitarist's arsenal of effects!

mine peeps a bit when u push it down/up but it can be fixed real easy by greasing it up a bit, the overal thing is pretty indestructable.
Value:
pricey but worth it, it's unique

can get real cool sounds with it, the harmonic effects are cool can make the sound get realy evil if u use the 1 octave down harmonic
