Hot on the heals of the hugely successful Tyros2 comes the Tyros3 an even better arranger than before. Arranger workstations, for lack of better terms, are simply keyboards which allow the user to arrange compositions or add accompaniments to a pre-existing song all within the keyboard itself. These workstations usually let you store a finite amount of songs or phrases you can call up at will.

The Tyros3 provides a huge amount of freedom to navigate from the usual strict standards of arrangers. With the Tyros 3 you get over 1,000 voice to use and over 128-notes in polyphony. Tyros 3 Now Featuring Super Articulation 2 Technology

Yamaha introduces a completely new level of sonic realism and musical expressiveness with a brand new technology: Super Articulation 2! Super Articulation 2 is the most advanced tone generation technology on the market, which features detailed samples of special expressive techniques used on specific instruments, adding unique characteristics to every instrument. The TYROS3 contains 11 Super Articulation Voices created with AEM (Articulation Element Modeling) technology, used to stimulate these characteristics to the instruments. Using AEM, the most appropriate sound samples are selected in sequence in real time, from sampled data.

The Tyros3 Has 8 Performance Enhancing Control Sliders

8 sliders have been provided just below the LCD display that allows you to quickly adjust all parameters shown in the display. The additional ASSIGN slider allows you to assign a desired function (volume, reverb, etc.) and control it in real-time during your performance.

Tyros3's Built-in 2-track Hard Disk Recorder

The Hard Disk Recorder lets you record your performances to two audio tracks - Main and Sub. A Bounce recording feature lets you record even more tracks, allowing you to easily record multiple parts in layers.

Tyros3 Now with a Massive 80GB HDD

With 80 GBs, an incredible amount of MIDI data, style data, wav files and more can be stored on the keyboard's internal hard disk without worry of filling it.

The Tyros3's Big LCD Screen

For those wanting to see lyrics and the sheet music that accompanies an artist's song, or even your own, can now get what they want with the Backlit LCD Screen built into the TYROS3 which displays lyrics, chords, and notation. This is a great way to learn how to read music, and since the pages scroll automatically, you don't have to worry about flipping pages to sheet music any longer! Another cool feature you'll find only on the TYROS3 is that the color LCD screen is visible from any angle! Now, no matter where you are on stage or in the studio, you don't have to worry about not seeing the screen!

Tyros3: Convenient Multi Pad Sync function / Registrations and OTS Information


You can add even more to your performance as you play with several preset phrases by using the Multi Pads. These can even be synchronized with Style/Song playback. The information displays for Registration Memory and One Touch Setting allowing you to confirm the registered panel setups easily.

Tyros 3: High-Speed Communication

The built-in LAN Internet Direct Connect (IDC) terminal lets you easily connect your instrument directly to the Internet. IDC lets you connect directly to the Internet - without a computer - letting you delve into the thousands of MIDI songs on Yamaha's website, and download your favorite music for playback. The USB terminals compatible with USB 2.0 High-Speed enable high-speed communication with USB storage devices and computers to online and on-demand music.

Tyros3: Music Finder

When you want to play in a certain genre of music but don't know which settings to choose, what can you do? Use Music Finder! It features over 1800 preset records, each with its own specially selected Style and Voice settings and choice of four registrations, giving you instant professional sounds!

I will not need another keyboard. The Yamaha Motif XS supports the Tyros 3 with more wave forms and its 76 note keyboard. I may have to buy another Tyros 3 as I will probably wear it out. I will probably buy the best pair of stereo monitors as they do well in small venues and sound incredible. I have not heard the monitors that are made for the Tyros but the pair I have now sound very good. This product exceeds my expectations. I definitely would like an internal GPS locator inside of the keyboard if stolen.

Sound
I have owned over 12 different keyboards and worked for Hammond organ, designed circuit boards for Lowrey organs, and played for 40 years ! Nuff said. I use it with a Yamaha Motif XS and a Roland G6. The sounds surpasses the XS and the Roland G. The keyboard is super expressive, so much so that it changes the way you play keyboard ! The quality of sound is super, recorded, live, and in different rooms. I have played it now for 6 months. I have not programmed new voices yet because the installed sounds are soooo good and they are easily tweaked via EQ and the great effects screen (user friendly, easy to find). It sounds better live than the posted videos, really! I have recorded several(20) songs (very easy)and It is hard to believe how great the quality of sound is. The first time I used it with a group I received very nice applause in the middle of a blues Sax solo. You do not have to do anything… read more to make this keyboard sound better. USE THE BEST SPEAKERS YOU CAN AFFORD! The nuances of this keyboard will blow you away. Better speakers will bring out the wonderful/beautiful overtones that this machine creates. You will never need another keyboard after this one.

Features
The screen is excellent. Registrations are very easy and very flexible. Recording is very easy and of top quality. It is very easy to bring to a gig. It should be a 76 note keyboard. When I play it thru the Motif XS7 I've solved that problem, except it would be easier to bring one keyboard to a gig rather than two. Once you have a 76 note keyboard a 61 note board is like wearing tight shoes expressively. One feature not listed is that it does away with a lot of software. It so easy to program I haven't even looked at the included PC software much less the software I have installed on my computer.

Ease of Use
The ergonomics of the keyboard are great. The screen is excellent. Saving registrations is very easy and very flexible due to it's freeze function. I can save registrations via song titles, sets, live setups, karaoke, effects, and much more, and even save settings on the fly in the middle of a song. It is the most playable keyboard made. It is super sensitive to velocity and aftertouch and therefore more expressive.

Quality
It has a very smooth housing design so it is less likely to Snag something on stage. It is easy to transport as it is not heavy like the motif xs7. Where can I buy insurance to protect my investment? Quality really shows over time and it is to early to tell.

Value
This product is a must have if you play keyboard ! Quality is top shelf and worth every penny. This product will change the way you play keyboards, in a very short time. It is the Lamborghini of keyboards, hands down. Once you play one you will not look back.

Manufacturer Support
Yamaha has already released 3 new premium voice sets. The trombone set at $50 is a no-brainer. From playing experience I can tell that Yamaha has gone to great lengths in programing their voices. Super Articulation is here to stay. It works and is very flexible. I am looking forward to many new voice sets. I.e., more guitars, harmonicas, E. pianos, etc. If the price range is right I will buy. CONS: The only minor quirks with the keyboard can be remedied in a software update. The ability to change octave settings is easy for the live voices but not available for the midi files or style tracks. This is a glaring deficiency as I had it on my Casio 3500 and it makes a song set up a breeze. Will Yamaha support this change?

The Wow Factor
When you hear it live you are HOOKED. I have watched closely everyone that hears it for the first time. The response on their faces tell the true story. Their eyebrows go up and their jaws go down ! It looks great, not as flashy as the Roland G6 but the sex appeal is the sound, it blows everything else away.
