Computer System Requirements
The basic requirement for GuitarPort is a PC with Windows XP, Windows 98SE, Windows ME or Windows 2000 installed, plus a Pentium III 500 MHz or better processor (Cyrix and K6 processors will not work with GuitarPort), and at least one available USB port (USB cable included). 128MB RAM is recommended. The PC must also satisfy these technogeek requirements: USB 1.1 and AGP Graphics; PC must be "legacy free" no ISA cards and all peripherals operating in DMA mode. GuitarPort can work with other Windows audio applications that support ASIO, DirectSound or MME. GuitarPort requires DirectX 8a and Internet Explorer 6 or better and both are included on the GuitarPort CD-ROM. When using GuitarPort hardware, any USB hub used must have its own separate power supply connection rather than receiving power from the computer only via USB.

In order to listen to GuitarPort, you will also need powered multimedia speakers for use with your computer, or a stereo system with audio inputs, or headphones. GuitarPort includes stereo mini (eighth-inch) and stereo RCA outputs for interfacing to music and sound equipment. Plus, of course, you're going to need an electric guitar.

Internet Connection Highly Recommended
If you want to access the optional GuitarPort Online features, you will need an Internet connection, with Internet access provided by an Internet Service Provider.

Totally satified!!
Sound
This is a great amp/cabinet emulator with a ton of available effects! Very easy to sit down and develop/tweak your own tones or share online tones. Great sounds for recording.
Features
Pretty straight forward, plug your USB into your computer. Wish it had the ability to add a footswitch for playing live gigs.
Ease of Use
Too easy!
Quality
The guitarport has a plastic body, but holds up well to abuse in a gig bag or guitar case. No problems after several years.
Value
I'd give it an 11.
Manufacturer Support
Downloads and software upgrades are very easy to use with the LineMonkey. Just load the software, and you can update anything you need via internet.
The Wow Factor
Only thing better may be one of the newer models, but this is the best bang for the buck. Other guitarists who have seen it want one!!
