I will own this kit for some time- Heck I still have my Simmon's SD-S9 and pads!!!!! Eventually I will pony up the dough for the Roland kit, but I will keep the Yamaha anyways...
Sound
Just getting back to playing after an extended hiatus, Sounds are very good... much better than when I was playing gigs 4 nights a week back in the 80's and 90's. Also i own an original Simmon's kit from 1982 and the Simmons pads work with the Yamaha unit flawlessly. Although who needs them when Yamaha's pads feel so much better and respond MUCH better. The hi-hats are very realistic in sound and appearance. as are all the cymbal sounds. This kit is great right out of the box.
Features
The hardware is very good, Hi-hat stand is good quality. The rack is very durable. It's definitely not cheap-quality.
Ease of Use
This product is again- great out of the box , I have 20 plus years of playing behind me . And I know good equipment when I see it, Hear it , and play it. That is why I own this kit!
Quality
I have not gigged with this kit yet, although I see no reason not to... I have played it for about a Month now and can see no real wear , My kids have also played it without any ill effects.
Value
I believe the price charged is way too cheap for this drumset. Honestly I don't know how Z-sounds can sell equipment this cheaply... I also have to say to Parents if you are looking to buy this set- Don't hesitate it's worth the money!!! I bought this set mainly because of the price- I wanted Rolands but who has that kind of money?? And the Yamaha's deliver great sound at a realistic price!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with Yamaha, so I really can't say.
The Wow Factor
Color choice would be nice- Gray is boring, but hey for the price who cares!

"Can't Beat It For The Price!!"

I plan on having this kit a long time. Perfect to practice on, record with, and play into the wee hours of the night. When I gig I use my acoustic kit but if room was very scarce I would have no problem gigging with this kit.
Sound
The sounds are very good and the pads and cymbals trigger flawlessly. The only complaint is the hihat, gotta work sometimes to get the open hat trigger. As good as the Roland V12 hats though for a lot less pennies!
Features
Very nice features and the module is very good in this price range. I have owned an Alesis DM4, Roland TD8, TD10, and TD20 and this module rates with all of them. The TD8 was my favorite.
Ease of Use
Plays right out of the box, what else can I say?
Quality
Quality is very good for a unit in this price range. I have played and owned both Roland and Hart Dynamics and I'd rank this higher than all of their kits in this price range, no competition!
Value
If you're in the market for an electronic drum kit that is a higher end than the basic kits available but can't afford the $3500-$5000 kits (who can?) then this is the kit. Highly recommend.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had any problems with kit but when I wanted to find out about adding another tom pad they assisted me very promptly.
The Wow Factor
Not as eye appealing as the top of the line Roland or Hart Dynamics but the price sure is! This kit looks great fro the price and the hihat really sells it as a drum kit.

"Great set at a realistic price."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
perfect for practice, and will last for a long time. the only time im going to replace it is when i upgrade to the dtxtreme. excellent value.
Sound
The sounds on this module are great right out of the box. the only gripes i have are limited EQ options, and editing is very basic as well... but the samples are of very high quality.
Features
not very many features for in depth customization, but the features that are included are useful... every drummer should play with a metronome every now and then and one is readily available at all times. songs included are cheesy but good for the chops.
Ease of Use
plug everything in, turn it on, and play. very easy. minimal fine tuning needed for individual playing styles.
Quality
ive beat the crap out of it everyday for over a year, and it still holds up like a champ... id say this is the best thing about this set, great modulem great pads, great rack. i recently played a gig with it (my a-set was out of order) and it sounded great!
Value
excellent e-kit for any drummer that needs to play at any time of day. very sturdy build... in my opinion rubber pads are the way to go versus mesh. a steal for this price.
Manufacturer Support
havent use customer needed to use customer support there, never needed to. if i have to its my own damn fault!
The Wow Factor
i dont give a flying !@#$ how it looks, i prefer functionality, and thats why i ultimatly chose this set.

Couldn't have been hapier with this product.
Sound
The sound on this thing is gorgeous! I love the fact that you can change the woods of the kit because it makes a big difference.
Features
Really cool. Love the Aux-In for iPods and love the click track. Helped me keep beet better. Love the midi-in for making kits on the computer. Just GREAT!!! This kit includes yamaha's most complex snare drum and high-hat which is sweet.
Ease of Use
Looked Hard at first, but when I got my hands on it, was easy. Looks easier to work then you think. Had it for about two days now and can almost work everything except the user kits and haven't tried aux-in.
Quality
Two Words: Great Quality
Value
Great Value. Everything you'd want on a drum kit.
Manufacturer Support
