The first time I plugged this bad boy in and played I fell in love with it. The smooth feel and the perfect tone it produces makes me wanna play it for hours every time I pick it up. It is by far the best bass I’ve ever owned. If I could give it more than five stars I absolutely would. It’s all around beautiful.

I am a female bassist who has been playing since 1988. I have had Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Warmoth, Warwick, Ibanez, Traben, G&L, Spector, The Bass Collection, Axl, Schector Stiletto, and Gretsch bass guitars in the past. I prided playing a Precision bass. This was my first Yamaha and for the quality, price, professional gig bag, sound, everything this bass has it all. I seriously am ready to sell off some of my basses because all I need is this bass and a precision as a back up. Seriously the first time I picked up a bass and wow fireworks when off in my head, if I could double the wow factor stars below I would. I really cannot tell you how much I love this guitar. If you're debating before purchasing on multiple different basses, like I was, you cannot beat the quality and price for what you're getting. Yamaha has sold me 100% without a doubt.

Musical Background:

Musical Style:

Just got my BB734A home and finally took a break from playing. Easily the most versatile bass I've ever played with no need to upgrade anything right out of the box. Didn't even need much of a setup. Intonation and action were almost perfect. Just minor tweaks needed. That's it. I'd have to have spent over $2000 on a high end Ibanez and a Fender to get the tones I'm getting from a bone stock $750 Yamaha.

Former touring musician

I had a rickenbacker 4003 , so my standards for bright tone and expeditions are high in a bass. I learned the bass and idolize Peter Hook of Joy Division and New Order, so when I saw not only the comparison to the BB1200S but the fact he is using it on his current tour I had to give it a shot. Long story short, the BB734A is now my primary bass and I would pay double at lest for this bass.

Musical Background:

Bassist and drummer playing in touring bands

Musical Style:

Post punk , post rock , new wave
