"Hard to tell without the critical part - - but no doubt OK for a beginner's Washburn."

Sound
Banjo arrived with bridge missing -- I tore all packaging apart looking for it, but it's just not there. Your staff were very helpful over the phone and tried (still trying?) to find a replacement; they also suggested returning the pak for a swap-out, but by now repackaging it from scratch for a return is not worth the money and trouble for a low-end item. Tnx, bd

two things. first. head needs tightening. I use a drum dial to set it at 89. came sit at 80. action was a little high. was easy fix. a changed strings as I do with any new instrument. plays well and sounds crisp set the bridge properly. plenty how to dos on YouTube. a new high-quality bridge (snuffy smith) will give you the biggest improvement you can do. stays in tune well and smooth fretboard. once you tweak it a little bit as good as any banjo in this price range. enjoy

any stringed instrument needs a little setup out of the box. this one needs a little more. if you don't have the knowledge or patience, you should look elsewhere. the Ibanez b200 is a better choice for a little more. had to tighten the head on this one. requires a drum dial that most beginners won't have. a pro set up will cost more than it's worth at this price level. that said this banjo sounds and plays well after dialing it in. the quality is average. good for playing around the house and garage. if you play with others that play banjo this is not bad. if just starting research something a little better.
