The Stomplab puts out incredible sounds, brings a lifeless, stale Vox AC4C1 amp to new levels. On the other hand, the users guide is terrible and brief. A person needs to be up there in intelligence to understand how the Stomplab works. I flipped though the pages and ran the controls at the same time for an hour before getting the basics, and the Appendices tables are more useful than the text.

Good sounds and some presets are really nice. Like many multi-effect pedals lots of the settings are just noise or examples I should say, however there are some good presets. Is it great at everything, of course not but it’s really good for the price. I bought it for the reverb, comp and delay. It does all of those really well for a bedroom player like me. It is also a lot cheaper than buying the pedals separately. It’s not going to beat a $80 and up pedal but it does in my opinion beat buying a load of $30 pedals. The reverb is as good as that of a fender mustang, the comp rivals the dyna and the delay is as good as the fly speaker. So it can hold against older tech basically. The other pedals it does are okay, I need to spend more time with them but could be useful. I do like the Germanium sound it has but that’s a drive not a pedal. This thing is a nightmare to learn at first. I had the 2G long ago and never cared for it but went back with a one, much better smaller and no finicky pedal. Read, play and watch videos to figure out the programming, that’s truly the worst part of it. All in all it’s a great pedal and pairs really well with the micro dark amp. This is the main reason I bought it since the MD lacks reverb but has FX loop.
