"good sticks for the working drummer"

the Nova 5B works very well for me as i do gig and rehearse quite frequently. I go through alot sticks and that adds up at the end of the year. These are priced just right for the working drummer. They are not without issues, there are very subtle weight differences but you but you can match them up with the help of a gram scale. other than that...they're good sticks for the working drummer

Musical Background:

playing drums 30+ yrs, semi professional

"Excellent value. Why spend more?"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will continue to buy this product as long as Vic Firth ofers it.
Sound
Sound? No real difference from 1st quality line.
Features
The nylon tips are solid. No breakage, no tip seperation. In general the hickory used is better than expected for the price. Mostly aesthetic flaws. Occasionally, I will get a stick or two, that break because of weakneses in the structure of the wood, but rare. I'd rather go through inexpensive, ugly sticks than costly ones with no apparent aesthetic flaws.
Ease of Use
Not the stick. The drummer.
Quality
These are second quality. Again, mostly aesthetic.
Value
Excellent value. I use these for rehearsal and performing. I am, however, careful to use the sticks that aren't as grainy as this will reduce the likelihood that they will break in the middle of a song.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had the need to contact support regarding this product.
The Wow Factor
Not the best aesthetically, but a wise practical choice.

Musical Background:

Active musician

Musical Style:

Alt, classic, hard rock
