"A little nervous from reviews BUT!!!!!"

I was a little nervous from reading some of the reviews on this thing for pc and in general to pay so much and have it “bug out” but, so far so good!!!. Installation was really easy, the way people made it seem for the install process had me prepared to be at my computer in the setting tab changing different audio files lol. Sound is amazing!! I thought maybe everyone was overdoing the sound quality that this has but they were not, it was great lol. I would say if you have a pc with usb 3.0 built in then go for it, it’s the industry standard in audio interfaces, but make sure you computer or laptop is up to par so it won’t give you any installation issues. But don’t let the negative reviews scare you off of this thing it’s great and zZounds have great payment plans to get it to you the next day.

After the Apollo finishes "shaking hands" with your laptop. This could take some time and little explanation, the machine has impressive sound. The plug ins are the best with UA. It took about a week, that I wasn't prepared for and the Apollo works without many worries.

"Not the same ass the thunderbolt version in so many ways"

Even thought the price is the same for duo thunderbolt and windows.. there are many differences. For example. there is no talk back on the windows version. An as you already know. its is a pain setting this up. UAD is also open at weird hours on pst time. Not easy to use. Clicking buttons back and forth to get to preamp and monitor is very annoying. i wish they made more buttons. After installing right. i still had a buunch of issues. plugin failure and sample rate would error kept making it unable to open pro tools. even though i saved the settings. As im writing this im still on the phone waiting for UAD to pick up.. the still haven't..

I have the thunderbolt version and the windows. DO NOT GET THE USB ONE!!!! it doesn't work and you will not get any support. ( I have a $900.00 door stop) And the worst part is you can't return it. It will connect but it wont see the usb 3 ports.Again! DO NOT BUY USB MODEL!!! UA will not help also. so you will be on your own.

"UPDATED REVIEW..."

Ok, so I bought this for my 2013 dell (alienware) laptop with windows 7 still on it. The Apollo Twin USB installed on it and would work fine, but after turning off the pc and/or Apollo, I would get the "no device found" in the UAD-2 console. I would see a yellow exclamation point next to the "Universal Audio Twin USB" under "Audio DSP Accelerator" In the "Device Manager".I reinstalled multiple times and it would always work, but not work after restarting/turning on the laptop. So I decided to upgrade finally to windows 10 professional (free upgrade still works) and now after installation, it works absolutely perfect. Plug and play, no issues at all now. Remember to also read up on preparations for installation from the UA website. Things like "turn off root hub USB power save" and a few other minor adjustments to help your installation go smoothly. Below are the specs for my setup that is working like plug and play with zero issues. Hope this helps anyone that may be scared from what people are saying about this device as long as you have a basic factory 3.0, 3.1 Intel USB port built in to your motherboard and windows 10 you should be good to go. By the way, I have the TLM 102 and 103 they it sounds amazing with this device and the UAD plugins! My setup:Apollo Twin USB(2013) Dell Alienware 14 notebookBIOS Alienware A01, legacyWindows 10 professional, version 10.0.19042, X64, 500gb HDIntel Core, i7-4700MQ, 2.40GHz, 8 CoreINTEL USB 3.0/3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)

"WAS ALSO SCARED"

I was also very scared to buy this knowing the setup issues people have, and no return on it. However, I bought it anyway and I am thrilled with it. It was a MAJOR pain to figure out how to get it to work but my advice is, only buy it if you have a computer with a built in INTEL USB 3.0 or 3.1 chipset. I have, and it still took about 6 or 7 hours of installing and uninstalling in several different orders. And even then after working, I turned everything off including my laptop, unplugged the 3.0, turned back on everything and plugged it all back in just to see "NO DEVICE" in the display on my screen. It was little things like that, that made issues later after it was already working. I can't give any real steps to help, I can only say keep trying, it will work. And when it does work, it's worth it in the end. Took a day of frustration but this machine is worth it. Like I said, just make sure you have the right usb 3.0 chips etc. Intel 3.0 or 3.1. With that being said, the item arrived in 1 day! Ordered it Sunday, got it Monday afternoon! Thanks zZounds! -RyanRap/hip hop
