"SEXY LITTLE THING!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Perfect. Get one.
Sound
I was pleasantly suprised at the sound. It's kind of like an Ovation salad bowl guitar, only easier to hold. When played through an acoustic amp, it is very responsive to all types of playing. And through the headphones, it sounds HUGE.
Features
I have read people complain that the included headphones are cheesy. SO USE A GOOD SET!! THESE ARE JUST THROWN IN!! As far as features, the built in headphone amp is killer. It's nice to just throw on a pair of headphones and go.
Quality
Extremely well built. There really isn't too much to go wrong. I know that this is sold as a "travel" guitar, but I have used it several times live, and it stands up. And since it weighs practically nothing, I can stand up too. It sounds really nice recorded with a little reverb, and maybe a touch of chorus. This thing stays in tune as well. And the included gig bag is excellent
Value
Buy it. You'll love it. Worth every penny.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed support, except to find out what gauge strings were on it from the factory ( .010-.048; very comfortable ).
The Wow Factor
Very sexy little guitar. Lot's of fun.

"Highly Recommended!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is one portable, great sounding, solidly constructed, cool looking axe. I would never buy it for a primary guitar (or even a starter guitar), but highly recommend it for the traveling businessman that needs to keep those calluses intact.
Sound
THis guitar provides amazing sound for the price/portability. Will it compete with my Alvarez WY1? Of course not, but I don't think anyone expects that. I mostly play fingerstyle roots/blues, and the Travel Escape has great sound on the treble strings, but the bass is a bit muddy. I'm using the headset that came with the guitar, but I think the bass might sound stronger with a better set of headphones.
Features
I bought this product for one purpose: traveling. My business requires me to travel every week and I needed something that I can carry-on airplanes and play quietly in a hotel room. It meets both of those requirements. Other features I like: the 25 1/2 inch scale length, the 1 11/16 inch neck width (just like my Alvarez), and the feel of playing a full-size guitar.
Quality
This thing feels indesructible. Rock solid and great feel. The pickup is also very good, at least for my untrained ears.
Value
Everything I wanted for a great price. Also looked at the Yamaha Silent Guitar, which sounds very similar at nearly double the price.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed to use their support line yet, so I'll give Traveler Guitar he benefit of doubt.
The Wow Factor
Very cool. Everyone at the store where I bought it was swooning over it.

Traveler Guitar Escape Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Headphone amp volume needs to go louder, but it is adequate if the room noise isn't too loud. Peizo-electric pickup is good. Definitely a different sound dynamic than magnetic pickups.
Features
Headphones are cheap. Better headphones would help solve volume problem by blocking more of the background room noise.
Quality
Great construction, except for the string action is a little high up the neck. Easy adjustment by a guitar shop.
Value
Very portable, materials are good. Maybe slightly overpiced (at $350), but I haven't found any competing products.
Manufacturer Support
No problem so far.
The Wow Factor
Cool design. I'd buy it again.

Traveler Guitar Escape Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Sound quality is just OK - the onboard piezo pickup and headphone amp are definitely not the best at reproducing the sound of a true acoustic guitar. Also, the pickup is mounted in the wood body so it picks up every little bump of your fingers on the body, and every little scrape of your fingers on the strings. However, the amazing portability of the Escape is pretty well worth the tradeoff in sound quality.
Features
Well of course the amazing thing about this guitar is its design for portability and playability. If you travel a lot and miss your music, it's really great. Airline carry-on friendly, or you can pack it in a large suitcase. The built-in amp for headphones means you can play anywhere (plane, train, hotel room) and not bother anyone. Of course you can't play for/with anyone else unless you find an amp...
Ease of Use
Piece of cake. Action is clean and low, and you have great access all the way up to the 19th fret or more. You'll want a strap, since there's no body to rest your arm on. I recommend a mandolin strap for lightweight, easy stowage.
Quality
Seems pretty solid and well made, but I've only had it for a week ;-)
