So I have gone to I’ve 20 different guitar stores (I travel different states just about every week). Tried several guitars and before I played this baby my fav was a Martin GPC-35E. Once I played this Taylor all bets were off this was a MUST have. The tone and most amazing intonation ever. Don’t get me wrong the Martin is great but this took to my ears and fingers like it was meant to be. Been playing for 40 years and to me and my style this was a match made in heaven. Just got it today and I may already need new strings. Lol. Playing it till “my fingers bleed”. Cannot put it down. Price: Well its pricy but IMO and from playing all types of high end guitars this plays like a $8K Martin. Pick one up you will not be sorry!

This is the finest piece of guitar craftsmanship I have ever held in my hands! Action set up perfectly the moment I opened the box and it plays like butter in my hands. I am just a humble intermediate fingerstyle guitarist, and I feel so spoiled to even hold it! Taylor has made a thing of absolute beauty here. It's crazy expensive, of course, but hand made American guitars of this quality don't come cheap.

Just to pre-qualify; I am a Acoustic guitar freak. I have been fortunate in life and own many high end guitars. I had never owned a Taylor and in 2005 I tried out about 4 814ce’s (including 600,700 and 900 models) in a single music shop. The balance and layered sound was stunning. The 814ce was just the best in the model lineup and I walked with one. After recording with it for about a year and not being able to put it down, I bought another 814ce. This one was a 2005 Cocobolo L10 LTD and it was smoking. The new expression system came out and I auditioned the top models again and pulled the trigger. (Both pick up systems sound very similar live but must be tweeted when recording) I just can’t seem to find a Taylor 600 series and up that just doesn’t sound great out of the box. Taylor is the only guitar company I feel good about ordering a big sight unseen. I love my Martin’s, Gibson’s, Guild’s etc.. but I said all of that to say this; The new Taylor 814ce Deluxe is the Stratovarius of guitars! The V bracing is a game changer. It’s like buying a 40 year old standard classic guitar that has opened up completely. A balanced sound that only a vintage guitar easily 3 or 4 times the price would sound. Trust me guys I know. It is truly a marvel to hear. The 21:1 Gotoh tuners make sure you are perfectly tuned and in pitch. There is something about the Adirondack spruce bracing that just nails the very essence of the Taylor soul. Balanced, warm, rich and deep. I name my favorite guitars after girls. (Not very original right BB..RIP) This girl you’ll want to bring home to meet Mom. Thank you zZounds for making it easier to purchase with confidence.
