I play a lot of acoustic guitar and I have played them all, this is a work of art. I was torn between the 314ce and the 312ce I had played them both and loved both of them and almonst changed my mind at the last minute. This guitar is not the loudest guitar I,ve ever played but the tone is rich, deep and has a certain sparkle that only a Taylor has. I'm glad to have it. It will never leave my guitar arsonal. I will surely be investing into the 314ce in the near future.

I've purchased a dozen or so acoustic guitars over the years and this Taylor has the highest out-of-the-box quality I've ever seen. The tuners are amazing, never felt any tuners that are so smooth. And I own American made Gibson and Martin guitars that I purchased new. Not that I don't like Gibson or Martin guitars I certainly do. But this guitar has made the best first impression ever. The action was perfect, measured 6/64ths on the low E at the 12th fret and 4/64ths on the high E at the 12th fret....with no buzz whatsoever up and down the neck on any strings. A pure pleasure to play.Others have talked about the lack of volume and I would agree with that, but it's plenty loud for playing solo or with other acoustic instruments and if you need more volume, well, plug it in or mic it up. If you are looking for something louder take a look at the 314 or 316 models. I am deaf in one ear and this guitar is perfect for me at home and I'm sure it would be playing with other's acoustically.Sounds great plugged in too. The electronics are great and with a low key presence on the exterior of the instrument, just 3 controls, bass, treble and volume. The knobs have a nice rubbery feel and detentes at the 50% setting. There are adjustment set screws in the bridge (you have to look for them, very low key presence as well) for the pickups and a switch on the control board inside the sound hole, not sure what all this does yet but it sounds great through my acoustic amp with the factory settings. The neck is a bit wider at 1.75" at the nut, something I need for my fatter fingertips I have always struggled with the 1 11/16 "standard" nut width and the shorter scale, 24 7/8" seems to allow for less string tension. These two features and the perfect setup from the factory make this guitar a dream to play. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I've been lookin' for an acoustic guitar that is fitting for my profile and style and this Taylor 312ce fills the void! It has great highs and low, moderate on mid. When plugged in with my fishman amp, you can tailor any tone you want. This guitar is sleek, very handy on stage, easy on finger-style, and great on stumming too both on light and heavy, give a clean tone every time. I'm planning to use it for recording together with my Martin D's. The only downside is the Taylor soundboard, not sure, but I'm a big fan of fishman electronics, this 312 has treble and bass and volume, there is less you can do with it not unless you have a pre-amp were in you can tailor to your taste and style of music. Other than that this guitar is worth keeping, 'tll my daughter takes it away! With Zzound, the price match is so amazing!

Well my nerves sucked buying this guitar. First time buyer over the internet for a guitar so i didn't know how it would come etc. But packaging was awesome, i got it out nothing was damaged so that was a big plus. I took it out of the hard shell case "Which is nice i plan to lug this sucker around trust me" opened it up and it was a awesome display tuned down perfect way to ship one imo.
Sound
It sounds awesome not too much bass just enough of every thing. I did not know if i would like the 12 series but i love it. I have a much cheaper 114 well not much but you know and it sounds pretty awesome in its own right vs it but i love the 12 over the 14 for some reason.
Features
it has a cut away, case not the deluxe case tho, the wood feels very nice to play on the neck and it feels like you could really just hold it tightly because its small.
Ease of Use
very just unpack and play stays in tune like a gem.
Quality
very well, taylors are awesome ive never seen such a guitar. I think i'll have this guitar for a very very long time along with my 114.
Value
worth the money i'll just say that. If you can spend more do it. If not go with a 312 taylors only get better as you go up in 4,5,6,7,8 man i want a 8 :)
Manufacturer Support
haven't needed them so i wouldn't know expect to register the guitar so thats good!
The Wow Factor
pretty wow'd this guitar vs my other taylor lets see it doesn't feedback any on my lanley acoustic / electric amp. That was something i went ok i need my aw crap lude for? is that the name i can't remember oh well. It's a sound hole blocker out wood.
