Amazing playability, sound, and features. If you want a serious guitar with pickups, electronics, and a cutaway with a smaller body that doesnt sacrifice on tone or projection too much, this is one of the best buys you can make around this price. Has everything I could want for live performance.

"Love my 214"

I have always wanted this guitar. OK, not always but ever since Taylor released it. I even had a roommate who had one. I did have two really good acoustics but unfortunately, one was destroyed in an act of vandalism about five years ago. Immediately, I knew I would replace it with a 214. It took me this long.First off, I bought it with the payment plan. It was so easy. It got here on time though FedEx was scaring me. Ever chase a FedEx truck down the street? Fun.The gigbag is extremely cheap but it's really all you need. I have grown to prefer gigbags over cases as they're just easier to haul around. Plus, I still have the case the destroyed guitar.Ratitng it:Overall it's great. It's easy to play and it sounds like a Taylor. It's smooth, it feels good, it's light, it's loud. I have not tried it plugged in yet. But the features look cool. I'm eager to try it at an open mic just to bust it in live.Quality, it's a Taylor. Cant' go wrong there. It's made in Mexico but I don't care.Manufacturer support: After you register, you get a free subscription to their magazine or something like that. Sound: Honestly, it has brand new Elixer strings on it and let's be honest....those strings make all guitars sound the same. I'm looking forward to when they break in a bit which takes longer.Ease of use: Yeah.Value: Oh yeah. I got this for less now than I would have a decade ago. It's right under $900. I could have paid a hundred more and got one of those Baby Taylors but seriously, great deal but what would I do with that?Wow factor: I wow myself that I own a Taylor now. I did consider getting the Martin that's around the same price level as they're great too, but I've played a million of these 214s in the past. I knew I was safe with it. I plan to have this guitar for years to come. I'm looking forward to breaking it in and having the sound grow with age.

Musical Background:

Guitar player, songwriter. Played in several bands. Recorded one album. A stay-at-home player now

I've always wanted a Taylor, but sadly they were a bit out of my price range during my younger years. I was in the market for a new acoustic guitar and came across this for UNDER $1000 and it really did not take me long to order it minutes after looking at it. This guitar sounds and plays like every high end, very expensive Taylor and Martin I've ever picked up. The tone is very warm and smooth. Playing both loud and quietly the tone remained in tact. The action is perfect, and it fits very comfortably when sitting down and playing. The Elixirs the guitar came with are great, I've always preferred Elixirs over most strings so I'm happy that's the default string they come equipped with. The gig bag is a nice, grey/tan color with the Taylor logo embroidered on the front pocket. Its sturdy, nothing too flashy, has two handles and two shoulder straps for easy carrying. I thought I would be ordering a new hard shell case for this guitar but the gig bag surprisingly exceeded my expectations and I no longer feel the need to do so, this bag will do just fine!Zzounds as always made ordering and receiving this guitar easy as can be so I'm going to make sure I throw them in this review for their general awesomeness. Guitar arrived on time in 2 days as specified with free 2 day shipping. All together, this guitar is very high quality and the pricing of it makes it a steal. If you're considering getting this, look no further, and click that add to cart button because you will 100% be very happy with everything about this beautiful acoustic guitar!

I received my Taylor 214ce today and I am speechless as to the sound and feel of this guitar. zZounds did a great job getting it here after I returned a Godin A6 that had a electrical issue. I should of got this to begin with. Nothing sounds like a acoustic guitar like a Taylor!! I play in a worship team and am looking forward to the new professional sound I am going to have.

"ok I guess"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars

Bought a new Taylor 214 CE and I really don't know what I was looking for in a sound, I guess. It was a mellow toned guitar with pleasing harmonies but not what I was expecting. Sold it and purchased a Zager ZAD 80CE and it knocked the Taylor out of the park. I paid twice the price for the Zager, but the return was well worth it.
