i needed a cheap bass to keep beside my desk, and liked the looks of this one.. yeah, i bought it because of the looks, sue me.. Anyway, when it arrived, I was impressed with the finish quality, and very surprised by how well this thing is put together.. The initial setup was pretty good, but i had to raise the string height on the E just a little, which also changed intonation, but that's all it required.. no big deal, considering some of the horrid setups i've seen on basses costing 4 times as much... Unplugged, it sounds good, and plugged in sounds even better. My only complaint isn't with the bass, but with the lack of cases and gig bags available for short scale basses... Come on zZounds, surely y'all can source affordable cases and bags for everything you sell.. hook us up!

Tried one out at store. Think I'm in luv! Played through little practice amp (ampeg BA-108), same as mine. Only turned up to 3, all else flat. Man alive, huge sound, big punch. Not just loud but full. Use to my Jazz Bass, more bite to the sound. Really like this, and the color is way sweet! On my wish list and soon to pull the trigger. Sooo want this!

Musical Background:

Jazz Bass, Guild acoustic bass.

Musical Style:

Rock, Blues, variety.

This bass will amaze you. I bought the Candy Apple Red and it’s beautiful. Great out of the box and played great. Only minor setup. But I always upgrade. I put a set of flatwouds on it, a Fender High Mass Bridge and Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders and this is the most awesome bass. It outplays other Fender Bass’ I have that cost 2000.00 and more. It’s my full time bass now. The short scale neck is so fast you can do unbelievable runs; and if you have to switch during a gig to play a reg 6 string, rythym or lead the 30” scale fits right in with no finger memory problems. Buy this bass and you won’t be sorry, but do the upgrades. I can’t understand why Fender has discontinued this model????? A case is hard to find bit a few out there that sells them.

Musical Background:

Very Experienced

Musical Style:

Christian, Country, Blues, Classic Rock.

First and Foremost, the salesman that assisted me was superb. Fully top notch in my book, thanks for all your help.In regards to the Bass... I was pleasantly surprised upon un-boxing. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality for a guitar manufactured in Indo-China is amazing. Basically, ready to play, except for a minor tuning. Theneck fit to the body is perfect in all respects. The paint (Inca Silver) is excellent. The overall fit and appearance is superb. As a Fender guitar guy (Strat's and Tele's) my purpose for this purchase was to learn "Bass". The tone soundsgreat through a "Fender Rumble V3-200" amp. In my opinion, if you are looking for a bass to learn on, jam with, or to have a backup (just in case) these are a great instrument for the price.
