Cool body shape and nice tunners, but this bass falls short on sound quality due to the cheap pickups. If you consider buying it then plan on replacing the pickups that will cost you about another 100 dollars. EMG HZ have got to be the poorest sounding pickups the company makes. Weak thin lack of real tone and low output. Not a very good value considering the price.

Just received the bass from ZZSounds, disappointed with setup from factory - quality of manufacture is there but so stupidly low action it was a buzz factory. So out of the box I was very disappointed and while many folks say its always the same this is the first Schecter product I have had that was this far off. So much so I had a luthier check it out, before I decided to return it. Good news, he confirmed great manufacturing quality just awful setup, few tweaks later it was playing and sounding great. Did this one miss a QC step at the factory? I think so, and they lose a star for that. Plays great now and sounds pretty good, BUT new pickups are on the horizon I think. Need to play with the tone controls a little bit more and my pre-amp settings, but not surprised if 3 months from now it will have new pups in it. Great quality instrument let down my poor attention to detail in factory/distribution. Buy it but be ready for adjustment and maybe new pups, after that you will have a $3,000 bass that you paid $1,000 for all in. How could they do better? Check them at factory, improve pickups and include a case or at least a decent bag.
