Just got this beast in today. Plays well, considering its my first fanned fret instrument. The change wasn't hard at all. Im surprised how easy it was. The decimator pickups are just amazing overall! The only con i have is that it didnt come with a gig bag haha.

I ordered this guitar a few weeks ago and I must say I’m very impressed! zZounds really did a great job getting this to me quickly as promised and in tip top shape. The guitar came set up as promised and in tune! This guitar has hot pickups and they sound killer if you’re playing metal of ANY style. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a nice upgrade at a good price.

Musical Background:

I’ve been playing guitar for about 14 years. I as well play drums, sing, bass, keys and much more!

Musical Style:

Classic oldies, blues, classic rock, heavy metal, hardcore, and metal. Little bit of everything really.

This guitar is extremely nice. It feels very comfortable all the way around. When you pick this thing up, it feels very solid. It has a quality feel to it. The neck is thin, but not too thin - which is great. I bought the blue version and I think it looks really cool when you actually see it. The pickups aren't the GREATEST, but they aren't bad by any means. They produce a little too much feedback, but I am preferable to the passive pickups. If you're looking for a mid-range 7-string, this thing will not disappoint.

I bought this guitar on fathers days weekend of 2023, when I first got it only had to adjust one thing and it was the bridge pickup, it was a little high and the top string would rattle against it. Other than that, I was in great condition, it was tuned and I even checked the intonation and even that was on point. I personally like to intonate my guitar and adjust the action every time I change strings and then I also do it once every few weeks after that and there’s something about the multiscale that makes intonation easier. I thought the fanned frets would take some time to adjust to playing but honesty after 5 minutes of playing on it, you can’t even tell. This is a stellar guitar and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. A friend told me about zZounds a long time ago and I finally did business with them and I’m only going to do business with them from here on out, they had great customer service and the delivery time was so much faster than what I had expected. This is the 3rd schecter I’ve had over the years and I think I’m gonna stick with them from here on out as well. I love this guitar, I can’t keep my hands off of it and like I said earlier, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! This guitar also stays in tune very well, the split coil option with the pickups is great for playing on a clean setting and the diamond decimator pickups are phenomenal.

This is hands down probably the best and nicest guitar I have ever played in my 15 years of playing. The thin neck makes is super easy to shred, the action is perfect, the tone out of this thing is monstrous and the cleans on it are melodic af. 10/10 would recommend especially if you play metal. It’s also a neck through so it has great sustain and it stays in tune just as good if not better than any schecter I’ve previously owned.

This guitar is hands down one of the best guitars I've ever owned, never mine it being a 7 string, its absolutely rich in tone, even before plugging it in, just a beautiful high quality tone machine. There is absolutely no need to upgrade anything. None. The humbuckers are perfectly designed for molten 7 string metal...just buy one and you'll see.

It's a great guitar. Once I set the the action (I like a nonstandard action) it is my best playing guitar. Only 1 issue and it's easily fixed, is the pickup height on the bridge isn't stable. I have to lower it everyday.

Lots of bands, recording engineer

First off, they were late shipping the order and when it finally shipped some tard shipped it Ground rather than the one day I was shown in checkout. No complaints if the CEO goes forward with finding out who is responsible, so that the guilty individual can be put before a firing squad and be relieved of duty. The packaging was risky, as the inner box had no cover, so the neck board and front body somehow miraculously survived without damage despite the large outer box having damage holes over these areas, which is to be expected from multiple facilities handling "Ground" shipping. The action was not set up and they sent the wrong allen key. Luckily I have my own set, so I then removed the buzzing from multiple strings. The low B needed much improvement. The guitar itself is beautiful. The tuners seem to need to be dialed in a bit but I can deal with it. For a first time with the multiscale it looks off though as you get into getting acquainted the adjustment really is quite alright. The overall weight puts it on the hefty side. It's a good feel though especially with the shaping of the neck.Looking over the art behind this front to back is quality. Worth the money. I had a bad experience with the get go, though that doesn't mean you will. There are plenty more reviews here that had a far more pleasant experience.

Ive tried some other 7 strings and multi scale guitars but they always felt strange and hard to adapt to. Everything about it feels great. Clean sounds do require a bit of adjustment on the volume knob however. My only real complaint is that the truss rod cover is a really flimsy piece of plastic held on by only a single screw that happens to be right under the D string. It really should have a little slot or something on the headstock to stop it from spinning around.
Sound
hot and bright sounding pickups, perfect for metal. Also makes good clean and low gain sounds, as long as you turn down the volume knob a bit.
Features
push/pull coil split is nice as is the string through body. tuners do feel great even though theyre non locking. The truss rod cover is a bit annoying though, the screw is right underneath the path of the D string and theres no recess behind the nut for it to slot into so its kind of a pain to get it back on without the cover spinning around or the screw falling out.
Ease of Use
Ive tried some other 7 strings and multi scale guitars but they always felt strange and hard to adapt to. Everything about it feels great.
Value
great quality guitar overall. everything about it looks and feels amazing. Scale length is perfect, ive gone all the way down to drop E and up to open Bb major with great results. The only small complaints i have are no locking tuners and the flimsy truss rod cover.
The Wow Factor
the veneer on the top looks amazing, looks are the #1 selling feature haha

I ordered this from N.J. on Tuesday and I got it by 10:00 am Wednesday, Zzounds has been absolutely your best bet for musical instruments, and everything in between. This is an awesome color “Charcoal Black” its one of the nicest guitars that I’ve purchased, I am new to the multi scale, but it is very easy to play, and I have a ton of black guitars, but this is a work of art, its light, and I really like the sound, even with high distortion its able to cut through for a killer sound, these Schecter pickups are really good. I have 8-9 Schecter guitars and they have always amaze me. I almost want to hang it on the wall and admire it, I am impressed with it, would liked a toggle rather than a blade pickup selector, but other than that if you want a multi scale, this is an excellent choice. Smooth action, and all around great value
Sound
This guitar really has an amazing sound, the Reaper is a great name, its got the killer look, comfortable to play with the cutaway for sitting, this is as light as an acoustic, but sound’s excellent. I will put locking tuners on, when I take it off the wall, these are very well made
Features
The neck is pretty thin, my action is perfect. I am getting used to the fretboard, the angle on the fretboard is not as bad as I thought. I know this will be my most played guitar. No frets sticking out, quick tune and it’s perfect for almost anything you throw at it.
Value
This was worth every penny, I am amazed at how nice this looks, I never saw a blemish, so I saved on the fact it was used. The folks at Zzounds are always helpful, I owe them for believing in me, when nobody else would help.Thank you Zzounds.DGF
