I don't like to give bad reviews on gear unless it's really bad and this mount really does flip the bill. I don't know why Rode wouldn't just include a shock mount with the NTK mic but if you want a shock mount you have to purchase it separately and the only choice you have is the SM2.This is a composite mount which means it is plastic. The bonus of that is that it's lightweight the downside to that is that it's not built as well as metal shock mounts. It's very "bulky" and of all things it sags and doesn't hold well. If there isn't one thing I can't stand it's saggy, loose, limp shock mounts that cause me to readjust my microphone every 2 minutes. It's not just a Rode problem even Telefunkens have that issue. I just don't know why these companies spend their time developing these great mics only to have them sit on the worst mounts known to mankind. I ended up returning the original I brought for an exchange I hope the exchange is built better because I really want a decent mount for my NTK and for the price of this one it's not worth it at all.
