I wanted a solid state headphone amp for critical mixing and production but also something fun to listen to while looking for entertainment. It certainly does both. Have tried a few different pairs of headphones with varying resistance and purpose and this amp powers them all with so much headroom they truly all had opened sound stages.Purchase this headphone amp if you want to have professional grade production headphone amp and a solid-state solution to entertainment listening. With the multiple inputs, I have it running from a Focusrite audio interface AND a Audioengine DAC. I can switch the Audioengine DAC to ASIO for critical listening and enjoyment of music and WASAPI/ASIO on the Focusrite I/O for general work/production.

Strictly used as a headphone amp, this piece is amazing. There is what seems to be an infinite amount of headroom. I've pugged it directly from a turntable. Not as loud as I was hoping but still sounds great. For mixing, Im using an Antelope Audio discrete 8 and monitor through Senn HD650s. Would Highly recommend this product.

This headphone amp delivers the goods. I've owned quite a few solid state headphone amps and tube headphone amps over the years but this amp sounds fantastic. Smooth yet detailed and no problem providing enough power for my HD650's. Highly recommended. I've never had to have the manufacturer's support but had to leave a rating so I gave them 5 stars. Rupert Neve is a legend.

"A must-have for Headphone monitoring!"

This HP amp has changed my entire mixing experience in seconds. First of all, if you have spent some money on your phones, you are still missing most of the quality you bought if you are using the HP amp of your interface or mixer. Run your audio outs into this little treasure first and hear your mix in extraordinary detail and smoothness, even at low volume. I can now mix with phones as long as want without ear fatigue. It just doesn't exist with these. And if you ever want to just lay back and listen to some music, this amp will "bring you" into the recording with depth and color you won't believe. Well worth the money. An exceptional value from the genius of Neve Designs.

I purchase this unit so that I could have a better headphone monitoring experience. It has delivered. The stereo field of this unit is much more natural and full relative to the onboard headphone outputs on the two separate audio interfaces that I have owned during the time that I first purchased this unit. The first was a $99 audio interface and the second was over $1200, just to give you an idea of the quality and improvement that this headphone amplifier yields.
