Randall RG8 Guitar Speaker Cabinet (1x8")

Don't let the 8-inch speaker fool you. This sucker can pump searing high gain tone and thick cleans at volumes that would put some 2x12" cabs to shame.

"Great For Orange Micro Dark"

I bought this to pair with my Orange Micro Dark head and to me it sounds better than the Orange PPC108 cab that I had hooked up to my Micro Terror head. I tested both cabs and the Randall seemed to have a better bottom end and an overall fuller sound. It's rated at 35w while the Orange cab is rated at 20w which means it can handle anything the Micro Dark can dish out and more. That it is $30 cheaper than the Orange only makes it an even better deal.I docked it one star in the 'Quality' category because the input jack is plastic. I don't mind a plastic nut but the sleeve is plastic too.

"The best 8 inch speaker cab around!"

I was going to buy an Orange 1X8, but I saw that this handles 35 watts and the Orange only 20 watts. That was the main reason I got this, plus the metal grill which protects the speaker from potential accidents. I paired it with a Hotone Nano Captain Sunset (Soldano SLO) and it sounds AWESOME! I was using a Blackheart 1X12 (an INCREDIBLY well made, SOLID wood cab) with it but it was too big and heavy to lug around. These Nano heads are smaller than a Boss pedal so the concept of convenience was paramount. I am also planning to try my Blackheart Little Giant 5 watt head with it for s#%ts and giggles. I may even dare to try my new Bogner 3534 with it as well.

"Beefy, creamy, goodness in an 8" speaker?"

Yes. The RG8 is a great little cabinet, that sounds as good as some 12" cabs I've heard. I don't know how they do it, but Randall did it. I added this sturdy little cab, using a modified cable, to my Albion AG10 practice/homestudio hybrid-amp (which has an upgraded 8" Celestion speaker), creating a parallel connection giving me two 8" speakers operating at the same time. The result? Heaven. The sound coming from my amp is now full, with a deep bottom, yet the middle and highs are right there, albeit with a bit of tonal adjustment. I still can't believe the wonderful sound I'm able to get with the Randall added. The Randall RG8 is built like a tank, and with the metal grate protecting the speaker, I fail to see how one could damage this cabinet, sans putting too many watts through it. I highly recommend the RG8. You won't be disappointed.

I got this cab to go with my new Hotone Purple Wind head, and it complements it perfectly. It's really loud! I wanted to get the Orange ppc108, but this thing was $30 cheaper and 15w louder. So I figured I'd give it a try.. Totally happy with my decision! I even plugged it into my Blackstar HT-1 combo, which also has an 8" speaker, and I was blow away again! It's really punchy and solid. I'll be hanging on to this one for a while.

I live in an apartment and didn't want a full stack because I could never turn it up, so I purchased 2 of these RG8's and ran them through my Mini BE Friedman Amp. Totally Blown Away by how loud these cute little 8" speaker cabs is lmao... These cabinets are of excellent quality and sound amazing for the size. Would definitely recommend

"RG8 Wow!"

I got this to go with an Orange Micro Dark amp. The two make a very small, mean looking micro stack. The sound is more than one would ever expect. Using a GLP Studio, the speaker can provide very nice cleans (with some chime and sparkle when other parts are dialed in) and very strong overdrive tones. I directly compared it with a 1x12 closed back cabinet (Celestion G12T75 - 16 ohm). The RG8 did not have the bass or fullness of sound, but it was good with the sound more focused (10' away and tilted back) with more emphasis on the upper midrange than the 1x12. It was nearly as loud in volume with the same amp settings up to what was a comfortable level. The cabinet is very light weight with a built in carry handle in the top back. It seems very well built and the upward sloping input jack feels solid. This was my first order from zZounds and I'm more than satisfied. The RG8 was back-ordered everywhere, but mine arrived a couple weeks ahead of time. Thank you!

"Can't be beaten for the price."

I bought this cabinet to test out against the Peavey 6505 1x8 Piranha cabinet and an Orange PPC108 and the Randall RG8 absolutely crushed them in every category. Not only did it sound better, was 15 watts louder than the other cabs and sounded more clean but it has a much better build quality and construction at 2/3 the price of the other 2. I tried 3 different micro heads through it (Peavey 6505 Piranha, Joyo Zombie and Orange Micro Terror) and I feel the RG8 cab gives a much more accurate representation of what these heads actually sound like. Can't recommend it enough.
