"Reliable power amplifier with good, clean sound."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Always have had good success with many different QSC products. I would expect it to keep working for a long time and should it need replacing for whatever reason, I would buy from them again. For my particular application, the only negatives I have found are a) the weight, although this could also be considered a positive from the standpoint of reliability; and b) the fans are a bit noisy if mounted directly in the mixing space.
Sound
Currently using it in a home studio. Frequency response is good and it produces a nice, clean sound to my studio monitor speakers.
Features
Most useful: connectivity; front exhausting cooling fans; configuration capabilities. Nice having a front-mounted power switch.
Ease of Use
Using it is as easy as it comes. Turn it on and it works - reliably. The only learning curve would be in the initial configuration as regards determining the type of cables/connectors and the appropriate dipswitch settngs for the particular application.
Quality
Built like a tank. A bit on the heavy side, but I would expect it to last many years.
Value
Yes. It's a quality amplifier from a quality company.
Manufacturer Support
Have installed many of these amplifiers when working for a video systems integrator and haven't really had any problems that required calling the service department.
The Wow Factor
Was using lesser cost alternatives until I could afford to upgrade. There has been a noticeable improvement in the quality of the sound since incorporating it into my home studio.

QSC RMX 850 Power Amp Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I would buy another. I'd like to see QSC put out a smaller 1U unit in the 100-150 watt range, and with passive cooling, (no noise in the studio.)
Sound
Overall sound quality is there, but the fan can be noisy. Keep this in mind if you plan to use this in a sound sensitive environment.
Features
Infinite options using the dip switch setup on the rear. Bridging, crossover points, etc are all documented well on the case for on the fly adjustments without a manual. Speakon is a great feature, with the exception of channel two Speakon only will drive channel two on the amp.
Ease of Use
See above. Out of the box it will function the same as any 2 channel power amp. Further adjustment can be made on the rear.
Quality
Extremely well built. Interior is very solid, with the torroidal transformer mounted directly to the chassis with each stage on either side. Wiring is clean and braided and PCB quality is on par with much more expensive amplifiers.
Value
For the price, you won't find many amplifiers of this caliber. You really do get a lot for your dollar.
Manufacturer Support
I needed help repairing a unit after it fell quite some distance. An enginner researched which components I needed. QSC is one of very few who will sell replacement parts and assemblies, as well as including engineering drawings and schematics in the support section of their website.
The Wow Factor
They look like a utilitarian power amp. Nothing really special. The rack ears are dual layer. The back portion is part of the chassis, while the front portion unbolts. This makes bring the unit back to decent cosmetic condition a snap. Beware tho, if you bend the ears beyond use, you'll have to replace the entire chassis as they are a part of the chassis.

"QSC amp is a sound value"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I'm very hapy with the product. Overall I rate it as high as I can.
Sound
I've used Peavey and Crown amps in the past to push our sound system (6 loudspeakers w/4 10" and 3 horns on each & 1 Peavey monster subwoofer) and have had good experiences. At the recommendation of a colleague I went with QSC this time around and am very impressed with the quality of sound. I think it is at least equal to my Crown, better than my Peavey.
Features
This amp has all the features I need. Peavey amps tend to have better features - cooling system is better in my opinion -- but the QSC has all the options I need with bridging, inputs, outputs, clip, etc.
Ease of Use
Most good amps generally plug and play... this is no different.
Quality
Constructed well, sound quality is good, and more amps per channel than Peavey amp, equal to Crown.
Value
Between sound quality, amps per channel, construction, and features, QSC is the best value on the market.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with them.
The Wow Factor
No regrets - I will purchase QSC next time I'm in the market with my experience so far.
