PRS Paul Reed Smith SE Tonare T40E Acoustic-Electric (with Case)

With its non-cutaway body shape, the Tonare offers a beefy sound. A spruce top and exotic ovangkol back and sides combine to produce a bright, complex tone.

I picked up this guitar to play gigs on after playing numerous Taylor, Martin, Ibanez, Washburn, Breedlove, etc... guitars. It replaced my Taylor 114ce and I couldn't be happier. *The action was terrible when it was shipped to me but I was planning on it getting it setup by a guitar tech friend of mine so it wasn't a big deal to me. For $700 and then another $50 for a setup and some better strings you can't beat the sound and quality of this guitar. It has a fat neck which may be uncomfortable if you have smaller hands, but plays beautifully. The resonance and sustain on this guitar are both amazing. It will absolutely stand up to guitars twice it's price and is a beautiful instrument to boot.Just bare in mind when you get it, the action near the sound hole will be incredibly high, but if you do a lot of drop tuning down to C# or even B it might be a better place to start for your tech to set it up rather than having super low action. The only thing I may do to the guitar is drop better electronics in it later on, but the Fishman it comes with is more than enough for acoustic gigs. The sound this guitar puts out unplugged is rich with crystal clear highs, smooth mids, and a booming low end.
