Sometimes you get what you pay for. The tightening screw on the boom portion will NOT tighten without the use of pliers, which makes it pretty useless as a stage microphone stand -- I gotta drag a pair of pliers to the gig to make a minor adjustment? I don't think so. I'd return the thing if it wasn't simply too much trouble to do so. If you wanna use it as a studio stand that you don't have to adjust often, it would probably be fine. But for stage? Nah.
