This is a great amp to use in all settings. It has quality sound for a beginner as well as a professional. Very easy to use and I really like craftmanship in the way it's built. I have played guitar for over 43 years and this is my favorite amp to date.

Musical Background:

I used to play professionally but I play at home now. I play stratocasters and les pauls

"Everything Old is New (Gold) Again"

Per the support staff at Marshall's website, this "new" amp is the same as the recently discontinued HCFX model with the only difference being cosmetic; the gold face on the head, and gold piping on the 4×12 cabinet instead of silver, and a traditional tolex skin instead of the carbor fibre skin. I have the "silver face" head and two 4×12 cabs and it's a supreme bargain for the relatively modest price I paid. The clean sounds are FANTASTIC. I eschew the onboard FX for my pedals though the chorus effect is quite nice for a digital effect. When the amp is cranked up, the damping feature gives a nice simulation of a tube amp. Does this amp sound as good as the tube powered DSL series? No, it doesn't but you won't find a better full stack for the price (under $900). I have the previous incarnation of this model and would recommend it. (Personally, I like the silver face & piping. Every Marshall I had seen before had a gold face. This was different.) The multitude of features and options takes some time to get used to so I had to dock the 'Ease Of Use' rating by a star and a half and I only gave the 'Sound' rating four stars because the OD and Crunch modes were unimpressive. 'Clean' is great but if you want some real crunch use a pedal.

I just play for my own enjoyment, I am not a musician. This amp is much louder and clearer than I thought it would be for the price. I love the effects it has on it and there are quite a few from gain to reverb, even echo. Any musician would be proud to have this amp on stage.

This is my first Marshall set. I have been playing for many years. I always preferred another brand. This stack met all my expectations. It is very easy to use and has a pure sound. The clean channel is very clean. The crunch channels are perfect. The effects work very well for me.I did purchase the 4 button foot switch.

Fantastic. I have played for 40+ years and the tone is great with a cord or wireless and the decay of the distortion is awesome. I like to play rock and its great for practice or live performances.

What an awesome set . I bought this for my 10 yr. old grand daughter who plays her telecaster named the HAG. She has a pedal board and a Cry Baby pedal but with the fx on this amp this thing will peal your face off.I play bass and have all tube set up and I have to go to big to keep up. This Marshall is really loud and I think she likes that.ha ha. I'm going to have to put casters on it because it sure is heavy. We both love the amazing sound that comes out of this really cool looking amp,and the price was hard to beat anywhere. Thanks zZounds and awesome job Marshall.
