So if you've played Celestion Alnico Blues you're familiar with a certain upper mid clarity and richness that no other speaker can do quite the same. I'd say the G12M 55Hz speaks in this cab provide some of that, and the same efficiency, but they don't compress like their Alnico cousins. This cab is just IT if you're going for the later Jimi sound or the Jimmy Page Song Remains The Same live tone. I have a 71 Marshall super lead that I use with a hotplate and I can get that tone. I still run the bass at about 2 as it gets too woofy for me (and if you can isolate Page's sound it's always bass-light). Great for all that 70s stuff too, not just Led Zep. I would imagine the tightness of the low end on this guy (compared to a g12M cab) lends itself well to more modern metal stuff as well. Very happy with this cabinet. Wish they still had those cool "100" logos though.
