"A Very Solid 2-2 USB Interface In A Crowded Field Of Choices"

I recieved my Onyx Producer as a gift. I also have an Audient iD14, so it's easy to do a side by side, A/B comparison between the two. 1st off...Hat's off to the build quality from Mackie, this interface is a top choice for mobile uses. The Mackie driver installs/works perfectly in every DAW I tried it with, basically every DAW. Really is built like a tank, knobs/pots are heavy duty and smooth. Not average anything will do, this unit uses premium parts. I would give this a 4 star if an Audient iD14 is a 5 star, preamp and headphone-wise. The MIDI i/o is the extra plus of the Producer 2-2. This unit made me a Mackie believer, it has out-performed interfaces twice the price of this one. Again, it's nice to have zero driver issues no matter what DAW I use in Windows. Headphone amp is above average, not equal to the iD14's though. Plenty of mic gain, I like them because they don't add anything to signal. An excellent mobile interface; it's solid plus reliable and surprisingly inexpensive.

"Toughest Build With Quality Components"

These are very durable interfaces! The Mackie drivers are solid, too. We've used one for over 3 years thanks to the tank-like construction, the other over 2 yrs. Just hold one, turn a pot...you'll get it. No joke, these are perfect for location/portable laptop rigs. MIDI I/O allows for countless options. The conversion is not Antelope Audio quality but no weird mixdown smears (we use synergy 4 interfaces in-studio for comparison played through Focal 5") and the Mackie sounds sweet as a computer playback soundcard. 3 years into use I spilt a sticky, sweet smoothie all over one;it was nasty...seemed hopeless. The unit cleaned up,kept working, and still does. If Mackie upgraded DAC chips yet kept the design, only improvement possible. VERY solid interface option.

"They Weren't Kidding! Works out of the box with my Linux Mint 21.3!"

They Weren't Kidding! This this is Solid! Very first thing I noticed before I even plugged it in. Being a dedicated Linux user, I am happy to report that mine worked out of the box soo quickly that I thought something went wrong when I lost audio instantly! Turned out that it auto recognized it and INSTANTLY switched to the device. All I had to do was turn up the audio gain. I have not done anything with it in terms of recording yet. I will give a full update in the future on that. For now, I will share a nice surprise I discovered. I have a nice gaming board with "Premium Dedicated Audio" and this Mackie Blows it Out Of The Water! ... as I hoped it would. If you want premium audio streaming into your premium audio system for movies or games and stereo 2.0 or 2.1 works perfectly for you? This is what you want! My games Boom and Rumble on 2.1 audio like never ever before. Sounds I have never ever heard a computer make on old familiar tracks. You can feel your enemy approach when gaming. :)Update soon.Special thanks to zZounds for helping us broke country folks get it done! :)
