For years I've been looking for a guitar that sounded good, felt good, and looked good. This is it. It's perfect. If you like to fingerpick with or without fingerpicks, this is a great guitar. The string spacing at the bridge is a little wider than most other guitars. This lets you get your fingers right down in there, AND you're not bumping into other strings by mistake. At the other end, the nut, the strings are a little wider apart also. This lets you make chords clearly without your left hand fingers bumping into each other. This string spacing feature does two things - It makes the guitar feel super comfortable and your music becomes clean and clear. I almost sound professional !! Both the saddle on the bridge, and the nut are bone, not plastic. The body is beautifully finished and does not seem small at all. It's smaller than a dreadnaught shaped guitar, yes, but by no means is this a 'junior' or toy looking guitar. It looks great. Also great looking is the peghead which looks like a design from the past. The tuner buttons are small 'butterbean' size and are very comfortable again. And once more, because of this, your fingers don't get cramped or bump into other tuners when tuning. The neck is wonderful. It's also a little wider and beefier than most guitars. This makes it VERY comfortable to play because you have something to hang on to. This is a great sounding guitar also. It seems to have just the right kind of 'balance.' A pet peeve of mine is that many guitars have a thin sounding hi E string. This Loar guitar does not. The little hi E is meaty sounding. Check out the old style bridge - it's a little smaller than modern ones. This probably helps the sound. There is a nice edge binding that is handsome up close. I just can't say enough good things about this guitar. I plan on playing fingerpicked blues, some flatpick stumming to accompany others, and tune it to DADGAD tuning for some Celtic music. I've been playing since 1973 and I've never seen such a versatile, great sounding, great feeling guitar. To look at the photo you wouldn't think it's so special, but it is. It's perfect.

I have been playing for 25 years and this is one of my favorite little instruments I have ever picked up. Just as advertised... if you want the perfect companion for front porch pickin'... look no further. So pleased with this purchase... this little box will be with me for a long time.
