Know now that this is a semi rigid case. It is a little “floppy” at the top when laid flat and open , but is quite manageable. The neck isolator will move up and down a few inches each way to give you support where you want or need it. Vertical extraction is possible.. Haven’t tried vert. load. Made in China for Levys .. However, the Levys quality you expect is there . Perfect mid point between nylon and leather gig bags .Fits my Jazz Bass very well. I do gig with this case ! BUT since it is still new and nice ( clean ) I still use a hard case for some of the more “ not so clean “ ( and nice )venues LOL!!! YMMV
