Kyser Guitar Capo Customer Review
It's simply a good capo. There are no problems with it. It doesn't harm the guitar or the strings. It doesn't affect sound quality.
Features
It gets the job done, all open strings sound good, no damage to the guitar. Works on just about any guitar.
Quality
It's really simple, and it's not like a capo goes through much abuse. So it's highly unlikely to break without some sort of major abuse. A sledge hammer would probably break it.
Value
$15 isn't much money in the long run for a good capo, but still, it's more expensive than most other capos.

The Wow Factor
It's a good-looking capo. Mine matches my black Les Paul, but it really clashes with my acoustic Guild.

Sound
If it doesn't slip, it sounds great! Holds strings tight!
Features
Strong! Here are the problems... on an acoustic with a flat playing surface, it slips down (in other words pulls the strings up toward the big E string) It will pull the e string completely off the fret board! And of course by that time, you are so out of tune with your other band members it sounds terrible. On mine the short rubber piece that holds under the guitar neck, actually slips off slowly... which is why it pulls the strings up! On an electric, it seems to play well.

Quick! Easy on / easy off! Fast to change frets...
Quality
Have had it for at least 4 or 5 years... still VERY STRONG!
Value
Fine for practice! Does good on electric... real bad for live performance with acoustic!

"Get a Shubb"
Don't buy it. It clamps down really hard and can damage the guitar neck, and it throws the guitar way out of tune. Shubb and G7th capos are much better.
Ease of Use
Admittedly, the Kyser capo rates high in the "Ease of Use" category. You just clamp it down on the guitar.
Quality
It's made from fairly durable plastic, metal, and rubber. It's not going to break any time soon.
Value
Definitely not worth it. Shubb capos are much better.
The Wow Factor
They look terrible. The handles stick out from the neck and look pretty stupid.

I would never buy another one of these capo's again. It has ruined the neck of my new Martin guitar. I have indentations everywhere I have clamped this capo on the neck. It is easy to put on (if you are a weight lifter with a stong grip) but that is about all I can say positive about this thing. I am very upset about the damage to my guitar. Be careful and always inspect for damage each time you use it. I did not notice the damage until I had used it up to the 5th fret several times, but then it was to late and the damage is permentaly there.
Features
It needs less tension on the capo and a LOT more padding to keep from ruining your guitar neck.
Quality
It is well made and easy to put on the guitar. Of course if you don't mind the damage it does to the neck of the guitar it would be great.
Value
It is over priced, I have now bought a cheap dunlop one that causes no damage.

Kyser Guitar Capo Customer Review
I recentlypurchased a new Taylor 314CE and put on an acoustic 6 string Kyser capo at the first fret for a minutes. WhenI removed it, it had left a very noticable indentation on the back of the neck. So much for the guarantee that it will not damage your guitar. No more Kysers for me. I'm back to my trusty Shubb Capo.
