"Great Guitar for Measly Money"

I've had this guitar for four days now. I'm typically more of a traditional/old-school kind of player, sticking to blues/rock/contemporary stuff. I don't play much metal/shred kind of stuff but I used to have an Ibanez RG that I sold a while ago and I was getting the itch for another "shredder" guitar but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I was just looking for a different kind of inspiration. This guitar scratched the itch! The neck feels really good. Frets are well dressed and I did not have any issues with fret sprout or sharp ends. The guitar came set up pretty well for the 9's that were on it but the tremolo was clunky. Also, the nut had a little bit of binding issues. I needed to redo some setup anyway because I changed the string to 10's. I adjusted the nut, only slightly, and the tremolo (I like mine floating) and now we're feeling good. Now for the sound - the pickups really sound good. They have the bite and growl I was looking for but they clean up really well too. If I back off the volume I can even coax some Strat/Tele tones out of these pickups, which surprised me because they are not split or tapped. The only thing that I think would need to be changed are the tuners. They have a lot of play in them and do not stay tuned very well. I put locking tuners on my guitar anyway so it isn't a loss for me. If you're looking for a cheap rocker then you can't go wrong here. I almost went for the JS32 because I like the FR locking trems but I went ahead and saved a few bucks and got the 22. I am not disappointed at all.

Picked this guitar up from zZounds not knowing what to expect. It arrived today and I am extremely surprised at the quality and tone this axe has for the price! First off, shipping was insanely fast. Ordered around 4 pm on a Friday and had it by noon on a Tuesday thru fedex. Extremely well packaged, comes shipped in the Jackson box, several protective wraps and styrofoam, and then an outer box to protect it all. Super pleased. I bought the black stain option, and the finish is flawless. Looks so much better in person. Neck fitting is superb. I did have a little bit of fret buzz on the little e string, however it was quickly fixed by raising the saddle just a hair. After a quick tune, I’ve been shredding on Themis bad boy for hours now, hammering the tremolo bar and it has stayed in tune perfect. I bought this as an experiment, and for a current video I’m working on, “best budget metal guitars”. So far this tops the list. Great buy for a beginner or pro alike!I gave the ease of use section 4 stars, because I’m not sure a true new player would know to look at the saddle height for fret buzz. Other than that, this is perfect!!!

"Good but it has an issue"

I would rave about this guitar, everything is really cool, from the pickups to the neck to the finish except for one thing. The high E string is really tight. It will not register tone hardly at the upper frets. I tried a few things that I have picked up from working on guitars but it's a mystery as to what the problem might be. I bought the blemished model so returning it is not an option. I will keep trying to fix it, maybe take it to get setup.
