This is a wonderful instrument. I read a few reviews elsewhere complaining about fret issues (rough edges mostly), but I am happy to say this one has none of those. The pickups are also top notch. The single coil gives the expected squawk, and both the bridge and neck pickups perform admirably. I was prepared to put some Seymour Duncans in there but it is completely unnecessary. If I do change them out it will be to put white ones in for a nice contrast. I am 100% satisfuied with this guitar and do not expect to ever part with it.Also the guitar came almost perfectly set up and I had to make very few adjustments to get it to be perfect. Ibanez may not make a public appearance much but they do read the reviews of their products and make changes to fix them.Another thing: the finish on this guitar is sublime. It is so beautiful I would be terrified if it somehow got damaged. It will spend most of its time in my studio save for the occasional live show I will be doing. If you are on the fence about this, have fallen in love with teh color, and want a versatile guitar that can cover any style, do not hesitate! Buy it!

"Very Versatile Guitar"

I used to work in the music retail business for many years and back then the general impression, rightly or wrongly deserved, of the lower priced Ibanez guitars (i.e. under a grand, non-Prestige, non-premium) was that they looked shreddy and played fast with the wizard necks but the stock Ibanez pickups left a lot to be desired. Even still they were a good value for the money as a lot of owners just swapped out the pickups and still came out ahead money-wise. Well folks, I'm here to tell you that these new proprietary Quantum pickups are a game changer. Lots of clarity and character, both clean and distorted. They work well for both Rhythm and Lead. No need to swap them out, unless you have a particular pickup model that you are addicted to. These will hold their own with any of my other guitars (Charvels, PRS's, Gibsons). The Wizard III neck is comfortable and fast. The jumbo frets are nicely finished. The trem is very stable. The combination of the ash body and maple neck and fretboard really make this a bright sounding guitar, which may not be to some people's liking but suits me just fine. 5 position selector switch offers a variety of tonal possibilities, but you won't really get that Strat "quack" in positions 2 and 4. Mine is the Blue Moon Burst model and between the highly figured see through ash top, the natural sides and back, the maple neck and black chrome hardware it looks very unique and incredibly killer! This one is fast becoming my main guitar. Definitely a Rock and Metal machine, but in a pinch you could get away with just about anything with this axe. This one is fast becoming my main guitar. I love it.

Finally got it, my first impresion was the maple neck, omg is really smooth and fast! Love the tone also, if you're looking for a guitar to play any style for a nice price, get this one! Also i recommend this for shredding (that's what i'm gonna do with the guitar). The only issue is that it does not come set up

"Killer Axe!"

This thing shreds! It became my main guitar the day I picked it up from the store. When I played it, I was blown away! All I needed to do was set it up for my style of play and we were off and running. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting to play rock and roll! Floyd Rose Styles are always a pain to change, but that's just the nature of the beast.

I bought this, knowing I was going to upgrade the bridge, and maybe pickups, pickups are useable, bridge needs to go,no sharp frets, nice smooth neck, much heavier than I thought it would be. It will need a setup, right out of the box,I set mine up, no problems.I'm satisfied
