Never owned or purchased an Ibanez before but after playing one of these I was amazed at the level of quality at this price point. Could you buy a Gibson Hollow Body that sounds better? Yes, but be prepared to open up your bank account, I don't think that anything else out there touches this guitar at this price. The Good: It's appearance is striking, absolutely beautiful guitar with Bubinga top, back and sides. Hard to say that they skimped on anything. The craftsmanship is well above average. The binding is superb the inlay looks great. The neck is perfect. The rosewood bridge is well fitted to the instrument. Instrument came from the factory well set up, a few minor intonation adjustments but other than that nothing major. The Bad: Not much. Not crazy about the factory pickups, ceramic humbuckers with decent, if very limited tonal range. Not sure why they skimped on the pickups. I demoed an Ibanez AF105, a larger guitar at the upper and lower bouts, and Ibanez put Super '58 Custom's (an alnico pickup), which are significantly better than these, think they would have been a much better choice for the AG95. I could have left the stock pickups in and been perfectly happy with the guitar but it seemed to be shortchanging the guitar a bit. I swapped them out with a set of Duncan Vintage Blues '59 and it opened up many more tonal choices, pretty cheap upgrade with huge payback. Guess if I really wanted to split hairs they could have added split coil options, but that is a pretty easy upgrade anyway. Overall at the price I paid, feels like a huge steal. Played a lot of guitars and it is rare that you see one in this price range that legitimately outperforms guitars selling for more than 3X this price. A true hollow body, solid wood guitar that plays great the day you take it out of the box, pretty rare.

I would definitely buy another one
Sound
I'll tell you what....This Guitar sounds clear as a bell & the neck has a nice broken-in feel to it...so much quality at 1/3 the price of a comparable Gibson axe & will even give the George Benson series guitars a run for the money in the Tone department! Nothing else compares @ this price....
Value
Very much So....
Manufacturer Support
Never had any problems with Ibanez Guitars....I own 3 Rg's and an Acoustic & I love the sound.
The Wow Factor
Well apparently this isn't a new model for Ibanez-the 2006 had different hardware, not the Gold hardware like mine does for 2007

"The best thing that ever happened to my music."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Absolutely an astonishing guitar. My only concern is that the pickups can get a little tiring, but pickups are replaceable. The rest of this guitar is not. It truly is a gem, no matter what the price is... but luckily, it's a budget guitar! I'll be playing this for years to come.
Sound
I would have loved to have a little more definition in the pickup's sound, but overall a very great tone. It has a little bit of a bite at the neck pick-up (undesirable if you're going for an L-5 sound...), and the bridge drives very well. I'm assuming these pickups are slightly overwound, but I haven't run any tests to make sure. I think that as a jazz guitarist, it has a unique tone, but the biting quality can grow tiring. Still, as far as warmth is concerned, it is in a league of its own compared to the Strat I was used to.
Features
Nothing too special, a standard double-humbucker setup. It works well, and I don't expect much more of a guitar like this as far as features are concerned.
Ease of Use
The neck is an absolute dream to play. I distinctly remember telling one of my friends that when I put a set of .13 flatwound strings on this guitar, I could almost feel the jazz that was waiting to be played. It glides easily, has a great shape, and feels good to play.
Quality
Everything is exceptionally well-made, regardless of the price. My guitar had a couple issues with extra vibration/buzzing, but a setup technician can fix that easily. Even meticulous issues such as the wiring have been carefully planned out and grouped to stay still and eliminate buzz, while being easy to access in the case of a repair.
Value
As I'm writing this review, I keep forgetting how cheap this guitar really costs. I think anyone who picks this puppy up is going to be so lucky.
Manufacturer Support
I've only contacted Ibanez via e-mail about the buzz problem I mentioned earlier, but they responded quickly and were very knowledgeable with how to help. Their website also has a good deal of help if you know where to look.
The Wow Factor
If anyone out there has the power to bring the sex appeal back to jazz, I will not for one minute be surprised if they are wielding this guitar when they do it.

Features
The wood used in the production of this guitar is beautiful and the online pictures don't even come close to what you will see the first time you see this guitar. The gold hardware is a real plus too.I love to see the faces of people the 1st time they see this. The reaction is always the same OOOHH ! WOW !
Ease of Use
Plays like a dream. It came set up so close that I didn't have to touch anything straight out of the box.Would'nt have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself.
Quality
Top of the line quality as is with most Ibanez guitars.I think it will run with the best of the top brands made today, with a better price.
Value
How they can sell this AG 95 at this price is beyond me ??? I'd have paid 4 times this much and not complained. It will play and sound as good as many guitars costing 5X the price.

Bought this guitar as a blem. it was on the lower back and very small, however the cheap Chinese electronics crapped out in the first week. I blame this more on Ibanez than Zzounds. The waterfall Bubinga wood is gorgeous and the tone fantastic. If you buy this product,be prepared to re-wire it' looks and feels like the original George Benson and comes with a great neck set ! However, when I called Zounds about the problems with the electronics, after I told him of it being a blem(which has nothing to do with them) got a lot of humming and hawing. I re-wired this guitar with Linear volume pots (CTS) a new Switch (switchcraft) orange drop caps and it sounds incredible !

I will get another one and keep it as long as it lasts which seems to be 10 to 15 yr.s
Sound
jazzy tone when clean, will get very good rock tones when distorted. You have to be careful of feedback tho after all it is a hollow body. It doesnt project very much unplugged but enough to practice without an amp. I was surprised how heavy it sounds with some gain and distotion you can definitly play hard rock to blues with no problem
Features
Just your basic volume and tone controls, tuners stay in tune well
Ease of Use
A dream to play, i have only been playing (learning that is!) for a yr.but I have a epi lp and an epi prophacy and this guitar plays just as smoothly as they do. Maybe smoother
Quality
Seemed very well built except for the crack in the body I found while cleaning! I had to return it and that truely sucked because i believe this was done in shipping.
Value
Well worth the money if you can get one ups hasnt dragged behind their truck
Manufacturer Support
Not the best had to put up with a very rude person before i got to speak to someone with manners
The Wow Factor
This guitar will amaze you with its looks. picture does not do it justice
