"Love this guitar!"

I bought one of these last year and I love it! I own two other SG’s a Custom 1998(smoother sound) and a Special 2003 (raw sound) each one is a little different, this SG fits nicely in the middle IMO. Due to COVID I didn’t play as much in 2020, I freelance with several bands and used this SG for a Southern, Blues band and a variety country band. It worked really well with blues rock I kept amp (fender blues jr) on slight overdrive all night using pedal for rock leads. I had to clean the amp up a little for country band but once I had it dialed in the guitar performed smoothly between country and using pedal for rock. I play SG’s or Fender tele this is my first guitar with P90’s it’s very different, more midrange than my other guitars. It responds well to overdrive, easy to get harmonics off the pick and slight controlled feedback for end of song crescendo.... love it! I personally like this old style SG body, it’s lightweight and responds to your body (natural vibrato) and mahogany really does help sustain. I was a bit hesitant to buy this because I prefer ebony fretboard but the rosewood on this guitar is good quality it plays very nicely. Feels very well built, stays in tune decent hardware and finish feels real smooth for easy playability.I highly recommend this guitar even if you have a SG you won’t be disappointed. Plus it’s a beautiful color! Oh, last but not least I was apprehensive it was my first online purchase for an instrument. zZounds made it easy and delivery was spot on time with no issues.

One of the nicest made and sounding gibsons I’ve owned. I must say I’m amazed at the level of quality that is now again put into Gibson electrics. Mine even came with a picture of the guy building on his bench!! Intonation- perfect, string height-perfect…..paint and binding job-perfect. The p-90s sound better than ever. Love this guitar, the Inverness green is so cool.I do not agree with Gibson’s huge price hike recently. Overall very impressed and I would buy another!!! zZounds is good to go

"10/10 Product & 11/10 Zzounds Service"

First and foremost, regarding zZounds Service; this was my first purchase after being recommended this site years ago by a good friend. Oregon to WV practically overnight and delivered by noon. Their 1 day shipping is no joke, even though I expected it to take several days or even weeks due to current events. No doubt I will be using this site for further purchases. Now as for the guitar in question; I'm still in shock. I've dreamed of owning a true Gibson (I've owned Epi's and played various other copies) for most of my life. No store in this state that I'm aware of can afford to even stock them, so I've only ever played ONE vintage LP Hilltop a friend's dad owned. You get what you pay for, hands down. I've only spent this kind of money on a USA Fender Strat after only using Squier...and believe me, the look and even feel may be similar or even identical, but no brand name with the weight Gibson carries would sell guitars that outshine their flagship. This guitar was made in Dec. of '19 with everything included in the description (Hardshell Case for me). No cracks, dings or damage of any kind and a noticeable scent of "new guitar". The Inverness Green color and P90 pups is what made me seal the deal. Take it from someone who has been playing for over 15 years... The price is not cheap, but worth every penny compared to clones, if not for the sound and attention to detail, but for the included case, personal touch and resale value in the future.

"Best SG!"

I have owned, and sold, a dozen Gibson SG. Various models, various price points, from high end to low end. I have always wanted to love them, but there were issues with each one. This guitar was different. The color is phenomenal, and I the fit and finish is better than a Gibson SG Modern I recently bought and sold within a month. If you like P-90s and like well-made, will finished SGs, this will be a winner for you.

Let's get the easy stuff out of the way.-The finish is amazing-The overall value of this guitar is amazing-You get a hardshell caseThe Unfortunate:-There is neck dive (it's fixable)-The lightning bar wraparound tailpiece is fine, but you cannot intonate it.This is a very easy guitar to play. The neck is somewhere inbetween modern C and baseball bat, but works. It's a little wide but still thin, if that makes sense. The P90s sound amazing. If you like the P90 sound, then this is made for you.The neck dive is probably the worst issue with this guitar but I was able to deal with this by putting on a new tailpiece that is intonatable.

"I Like It"

I like it. But it needs a little tlc since it's brand new, fresh out of the factory. Needs a set up badly. The fretboard is kind of ashy and the neck is pretty bowed, that's an easy fix. None of that stuff bothers me. The only thing that bothers me are the blemishes on each side of the nut where the nut meets the paint. Maybe a tech can cover those spots up. Idk. As for the tone, it sounds good because it's me playing guitar. I'm flames. Anyway, she's a keeper. Really looking forward to modding this one. Super excited actually :)
