Gibson SG Special Limited Edition Faded Electric Guitar (with Case)

Seemingly custom-made for raw, blistering rock 'n' roll, this SG is a face-melting machine. A pair of P-90 pickups offer raucous mids that liven up any amp.

I love this guitar! I've got an SG Junior and a Les Paul Junior... Both are 2018 models. I wanted to add another Gibson with 2 P90s so I had a few more tonal options. This guitar is beautiful with no flaws whatsoever. The factory setup was pretty good... no complaints. I heard some bad things about Gibson quality control in the past, but I think they've greatly improved. This is a killer guitar at a reasonable price.

I just bought this the other day. As usually zZounds had it to me in about 3 days. The guitar was flawless. I could not find one blemish or mark on it. The case was constructed poorly, the neck support by the headstock was installed way too low and the neck was about an inch higher than the neck rest and could not even touch it. I was able to remove the support and raise in up to meet the neck. The tolex on the case is coming loose at the seams, but I am sure this is just a one case thing because all my other Gibson cases are constructed pretty well. Now back to the Guitar. It sounds great, but it does have a PCB so I will be hand wiring it with Gibson pots and orange drop caps and it should sound better. It is a little tricky to get it to intonate and it is not perfect, but pretty close. The action was a little high, but that was an easy fix with a proper setup. All-in-all it is a really cool fiddle, with a real retro vibe. Well worth the money. This is the 3rd 2019 Gibson I’ve bought and it seems to be a pretty good year for Gibson's.

I’ve had this guitar for about a month now. It’s the Pelham blue one. Finish is really nice, guitar was well set up. I really like how the P90s sound clean. I had an SG before with humbuckers and loved the look, but never liked how the guitar sounded clean. Also, for whatever reason that SG had a neck dive problem, but this one doesn’t seem to have that. Maybe Gibson addressed the weight distribution, I’m not sure. I really don’t have anything to complain about with this guitar. Perhaps it’s a little pricey for what it is, the old SG classics with P90s were under $1000, but that was 10 years ago. It also comes with a hard case, there are more expensive Gibson’s shipping in a gig bag. At the end of the day, I wanted an SG with P90s, liked the color option, and heard good things about the 2019 Gibson’s so I decided to pull the trigger. Very happy I did.
