Gibson 2018 Les Paul Faded Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

Sporting aggressive 490R/490T pickups, a Slim Taper neck and a subtle worn finish, the 2018 Gibson Les Paul faded is a stripped-down rock 'n' roll machine.

"I Can't Put This Guitar Down!"

Excellent service from zZounds, price/delivery was the best around. Purchased a worn cherry finish and it's blemish free. A pure rock and roll machine, sounds SO good through my Blackstar tube head or Katana solid state amp. Quality control was spot on except one thing, something that has been well documented and much discussed. Why Gibson does this is beyond me, but they ship these out with the driest fretboard's. Took 3 light applications of lemon oil (and 2 string changes) to get it to "normal". Small thing, for sure, but it irked me to no end, a feeling that quickly turns to YEEHAW once I start playing it. Top notch deal on a Gibson Les Paul and definitely a deal at this price.

The guitar arrived in excellent condition. The wood and action are great. One saddle needed adjusting, that's all. It looks great in Worn Cherry, even more so than I expected. The pickups are rock oriented - aggressive, but not metal aggressive. Neck finish feels terrific. Lightweight for a LP.

This was my first Gibson guitar purchase after wanting a Les Paul for many years. While it does not have the "bells and whistles," it is still a very sharp looking guitar. I love the worn bourbon finish. It came set up very well right out of the box. I feel its a steal for the price point, USA made Les Paul. It sounds great. To me its a great entry level Les Paul purchase (even though I could see myself having this one for a long time, as I do not need the bells and whistles). Very happy with the purchase.

"Highly recommend this guitar!"

I purchased this guitar and a set of Zakk Wylde signature EMG Pickups. The guitar played well after a mild setup. I played it for a couple of hours that day. For the money it’s a great guitar. Gibson’s cryogenically treated frets are smooth and fast. I have several other Gibson’s and this one plays as well as my other ones. This is my first one with the new type of frets and my first impression of them is a good one. The stock pickups are good ones and I have an SG with the same ones and it’s one of my favorite guitars. I purchased this one and the ZW pickups with the plan of swapping out the pickups which I did the very next day. Now this Les Paul is a BEAST! I kept all of the stock parts in case I ever wanted to sell it (which I doubt will ever happen) I can easily put it back to original. Don’t get me wrong, the stock ones are good. Overall it’s a great guitar stock but I’d been wanting the ZW pups for a while. I will be changing the tuners to locking tuners and the bridge and tailpiece to an aftermarket upgrade. These are my personal preferences and can be reversed very easily. The tuners may not be reversible. If you are considering this guitar, I can honestly say Go For It! If I didn’t already have several Gibson’s I would grab this one and keep it stock. I was lacking a Gibson with active pickups and Zakk Wylde is a Monster Guitarist who has influenced me many years. I hope this long review is of some help to you. P.S I used Dr. Ducks ax wax (lemon oil based guitar polish) on the fretboard and body and it looks like deep dark wine. Beautiful. The fretboard was very dry and now it’s nice and dark and will last a lifetime. Go for it!

First rattle out of the box, the guitar we received arrived in pristine, perfect condition via 2-day delivery. It was tuned and ready to play, straight out of the shipping box. The deluxe soft case ensured a safe journey from Gibson factory to our studio. We have hard Les Paul cases, but really dig the included soft case(prefer it)...it's heavy duty plus it's retro cool. Gibson sent a pic of my exact guitar being properly set up in Gibson factory, before final shipping. Considering the axe arrived 98% tuned and ready to play, it is obvious the tech did the job right. Thanks, Gibson-no QC issues here! Not a blemish on this guitar anywhere...pure Gibson mojo top to bottom. The stock pickups deliver that classic Les Paul sound, exactly what I wanted. Plugged it into a Katana head, then a 1966 Fender Bassman with a pedal board in front of it, and promptly became a hardcore Gibson fanatic. Magnificent guitar, made in USA! zZounds delivered the goods at a great price and we couldn't be happier. Excellent service, start to finish.

Awesome deal!! I received this guitar today with two day delivery. Thanks for zZounds and their pay as you play plan, I am now a proud owner of a Gibson Les Paul. I have always been a big fan of Gibson guitars. This guitar fulfills all my Les Paul needs. I was going to go Epiphone, I was never sure if I was ever going to own a Gibson. I also own a Fender American Professional Stratocaster and a Charvel So Cal pro mod (Super Strat). This Les Paul fill's all the gaps between my other two guitars. I've been going through various tones, playing everything from sparkling clean Jazz to dirty blues to screaming hard rock/metal. This guitar does it all. The tones are beautiful. The case the guitar comes with is very impressive, along with tools for adjusting action quick and simple. If you are looking for a players Les Paul, get this guitar. Don't let the price fool you, this is the real deal.

This is a Les Paul, outside of binding and the inlays, and the unfinished neck (which is a plus if you like Fender maple necks). Sustain for days, I bought a set of hot rodded Seymour Duncan’s to put in it, but after hearing these 490s I changed my mind. The case was exceptional and although a soft case it is all that’s needed, great quality!I love the look, it is just raw tasty goodness in a great price!

Just wow. I have had multiple Epiphone guitars including a Les Paul. I feel the Epiphone versions don't do them justice. My epi Les Paul turned me off of them for a long time then I decided to get this Gibson and omg this is quickly becoming my favorite guitar. Everything about this guitar feels right. I know Gibson has been having quality control issues so I went over this with a fine tooth comb. Aside from a few screws not screwed in all the way this guitar is almost flawless. Plays like a dream and I would definitely recommend this to another guitar player.

I am more than happy with this guitar,Itwas set up nicely, intoneation was good. All i did was lower the string height a tad. After a couple days of getting aquanted i could"nt put it down. Pickups have a nice rock growl when i bump it up through my tube amp. Plays like butter, a no frills beast. A very nice case/gig bag came for it too...looks to be sturdy and plush. overall a Great deal.... Havent had a reason for manufacturer support....Now i"m waiting for a deal like this on a 335 with the very affordable payment deal

This is a great guitar. It plays great straight out of the box. Has that legendary Gibson tone what’s not to love. The one I received is very light weight it’s the lightest Gibson I own. It’s perfect for my son to play and learn on. Also I love the finish ( worn cherry) it’s a bare basic guitar from one of the finest guitar makers on the planet. If you are looking at this guitar go ahead and buy it you will be glad you did
