I didn't need another guitar, in-fact i felt buyers remorse as soon as i placed the order, and kinda was hoping to receive a lemon with sharp frets and crooked tuners, i have never done a review so fast either i just received this guitar about 6 hours ago and can't put it down, my 2 other electrics are YJM Stratocaster 2018 model and PRS Custom 24 S2, both are spectacular guitars, i have owned at least 30 guitars in my life time in all price ranges and all makes, but this one is simply the best guitar yet, right out of the box set up intonation action etc were perfect, all i had to do is to tune in up and plug it in, the finish is rough by design and no faulting guitar for that, the neck is perfect fat and fast, fretwork is exceptional no buzz, nut cut perfectly and the beast stays in tune the way a Les Paul is not supposed to, i got it for a killer price but if i paid full $1000 retail it would've been worth every penny, unplugged guitar sounds almost like a thin body acoustic so resonant pick ups are hot and beastly, outstanding job Gibson.

After changing the stock strings, this guitar came to life! Was skeptical about it but I am totally relieved. Play a chord or note and it sustains forever

"BFG =Butter Face Guitar"

Les Paul BFG...I call it the Butter Face Guitar, everything is HOT butter face! I love the look of this guitar! It really personifies my taste in music...a little dark and rough around the edges. I really like minimalist approach to this guitar, but everyone has their own preferences. It gets rid of all the frills and extras and makes the guitar a rocking workhorse. It really has the spirit of metal and rock music. You will never have to worry about dings and scratches on this guitar. I have never been much of a fan of artificially worn or relic finishes on new guitars, but this is not really over the top and adds to the rough look. The setup was 99% out of the box and there are no complaints with the construction. It even came with a picture of the guitar sitting on the technicians bench in the factory, which was a surprise! The tone is the same fat and chunky Les Paul sound and the sustain goes on almost forever. The clean is bright and sounds great with all pick up selections. Tuning has not been an issue at all and handles Drop D and Drop Db really well. I have been playing Fender Strats for a few years now over my LP Studio model and I had forgotten how much better sustain the LP's have. The only thing different that I would have asked for is an ebony fret board and a black tailpiece and bridge. If I could have my own signature guitar, this would be very close to my personal specifications. A great sounding, reasonably priced made in USA LP without all the bling!

I talked to Gibson at length. It took the guy 5 minutes on hold to let me know that the pickups on this Guitar are 496 and 500t CERAMIC pups. I dont know why they dont list them on any sites, but they are pretty hot pups. The BFG is = to Barely Finished Guitar." This took a while to find out. IT is a very hot sounding Guitar in case you are interested. I would like to take the pups out and put them into an Epi and put some 57s in it and go from there as I like the look of it, but it
